I’m not certain if the Malus Domestica Fruit (Apple) Cell Culture Extract is a stem cell ingredient. Sometimes stem cells are listed this way, but not always. I would check into what the brand is claiming about stem cells in the product. My concerns are in this post: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy.

Hi, I was wondering if the caffeine in this eye cream is ok for pregnancy?
Yes, the amount of caffeine in a topical product is much lower than beverages, and you’re still allowed 1 coffee daily, which has about 32 mg of caffeine. It’s absorbed much more readily through ingestion than topically.

I love your site, it’s been a great resource! I just had a question: I was looking to get the complete eye renewal balm but I saw it wasn’t safe for pregnancy bc of the added stem cells. I’ve looked but haven’t been able to find any information as to why stem cells should be avoided during pregnancy. Would you mind sharing your finding with me? Thank you!

It’s one of those things that I’m not entirely comfortable with and neither are some of the other physicians that I’ve spoken to about it. But, it’s likely overly conservative of me. It’s kind of up to you!
Was the Complete Eye Renewal Balm previously considered pregnancy safe but was updated a few months ago to nursing safe only? I remember checking on it last year and bought it because it was safe but now it might contain stem cells and I’m nervous!
I re-review brands periodically, the date of the most recent review is always in the post. When I do this I start from scratch, I don’t even look at the old list. So I don’t really remember where things used to be but are now. The brand doesn’t call them out as stem cells in the copy, which is usually where I look (and they usually say it there if they are stem cells, it’s a big buzzword and they won’t skip mentioning it), but they mentioned them in the list of ingredients and used a term that usually means it’s a stem cell ingredient.

It’s up to you, they don’t call it out as a stem cell containing product, but I was suspicious based on the list of ingredients.

Hi! I think the Genius Liquid Collagen is accidentally misclassified here as a chemical sunscreen. I could be totally wrong here though! I thought the product was supposed to be used for a different purpose than as a sunscreen. Thank you!!
