Pregnancy Safe Skincare from Elemis

What products from Elemis are pregnancy safe?

Pregnancy safe skincare can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products. The list has gotten so large that I’ve decided to start listing brands in their own individual posts.

Here you’ll find every pregnancy safe skincare product from Elemis as of 5/5/2020. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. If they release a new product that is not listed here, please comment below and I will add it. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.

How to Request a Product Review

I try to review all of the products that I can when I publish a list. Note, I am in the US and I only have access to US products. Please don’t be rude if I skipped your favorite cleanser, when items are out of stock sometimes they aren’t on the brand’s site, or maybe you are in Asia and I am in the US.

I reserve the comments on each post for reviews of product from that brand, this makes it easier for others to find products later. Please only ask about Elemis on this post, I will delete other product questions. You can find other brands here. If your brand is not included, please ask on the brand list post.

    Hi!!
First if all: THANK YOU X
Next…why is the dynamic resurfacing facial wash okay during pregnancy; but, rest of the range of dynamic resurfacing is not? Is that a typo?
    Thank you!!

No, it isn’t a typo. Each product has the ingredient of concern noted, I’ve specifically placed each product under what I think they are safe for. It isn’t unusual to have different products of the same line be safe while others are not.

Hello! I have a few questions on products. Elemis claims all their FACE products are now safe for pregnancy and nursing moms. One product I use I do not see on here, and the other is on the “not safe” list, but I am not seeing the ingredient listed. I am curious if they may have changed their formula since last year or if I am missing something? They are:

-Pro-Collagen Eye Revive Mask -the only ingredients I can find on their site is plant derived hyaluronic acid, padding pavonica, and watermelon snow algae.
-Superfood Facial Oil- broccoli oil, flax seed oil, daikon radish seed extract, cucumber oil, macadamia seed oil, rice bran oil, poppy seed oil, Rosehips fruit oil, meadow foam set oil, squalean

For both I am unable to find on their site the complete ingredient breakdown lists. The internet lists this, but none seem to be consistent, therefore I do not know whether to trust them or not 🙂 Any help is appreciated!

This is the list for the eye mask (via Revolve, which is a retailer I trust):
Aqua/Water/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Maltodextrin, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Lespedeza Capitata Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hydroxide, Lactic Acid, Serine, Sodium Lactate, Sorbitol, Urea, Rhizobian Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Padina Pavonica Thallus Extract, Chlorphenesin, Plankton Extract, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Sodium Chloride, Coenochloris Signiensis Extract, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Allantoin.

It looks fine for pregnancy and nursing

      The oil (also via Revolve):
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Flax) Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Papaver Somniferum (Poppy) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, Squalane, Raphanus Sativus (Radish) Seed Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Oil, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Seed Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Limonene, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange) Peel Oil, Amyris Balsamifera Bark Oil, Cymbopogon Martini (Palmarosa) Oil, Geraniol, Linalool, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Benzyl Benzoate, Farnesol, Citral, Benzyl Salicylate, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract.

this has a salicylate and I would avoid it in pregnancy, but it’s ok for nursing.

There isn’t a universally accepted list of safe vs unsafe ingredients for pregnancy, but salicylates are pretty universally accepted as an ingredient to avoid. More discussion on that here: pregnancy beauty FAQ

      I hope that helps!

First of all, THANKS for your website, it’s being a tremendous help in figuring out what’s safe to use and what isn’t, rather than having to check every single product’s ingredients and still be unsure since some are not easily spotted.
In the few days I’ve been reading you I’ve had to put aside most of my lipbalms and the only one I have left is Elemis but not listed here, could you please let me know if safe?
    THANKS again!
