Ok for nursing but not pregnancy due to salicylate

I was wondering if the old version of the Strivectin neck cream, the one with 10% lestodine complex, is safe to use during pregnancy as I haven’t been able to find any information on lestodine complex. I also asked Strivectin but they didn’t confirm whether it was safe, they just asked me to check with my doctor.

Hi, i am currently 6 weeks pregnant and love using my Strivectin products. 2 of the products I use (anti-wrinkle sd advance PLUS face and eye cream) have caffeine and coffee extract. Should I be concerned?

Safe for pregnancy and nursing
Thanks Christine! I’ve seen some previous posts about Sodium Benzoate and that it may need to be avoided. Any thoughts or recent findings on this ingredient?
You can pretty much find info out there about avoiding everything possible, much of which isn’t based on much. It’s not considered an ingredient to avoid by the medical community. Very keen on your take on the following –
Just bought Strivectin Super C and retinol as well as the SD advanced plus intensive moisturizer. While I think the products seem amazing, I’m concerned about the use of fragrance and phenoxyethanol in them. Do you categorize them as hormone disruptors or would you say they aren’t as bad as parabens and the like? I believe fragrance can contain phthalates which is the issue.
They’re not considered disrupters by the medical community at large. A lot of the data out there isn’t convincing when you really go and read the articles themselves (sites like the EWG make big leaps in thinking when reading studies, a lot of physicians and scientists aren’t a fan of the EWG for this reason). Right now I definitely lump all of the chemicals you mentioned together, because while there’s some initial concerning evidence, it’s usually in a petri dish or which huge concentrations of the chemical or something where the study was so poorly done that you can’t sort out what the chemical did vs all of the confounding variables. Parabens were linked to breast cancer because someone found parabens in a tumor, but they didn’t look to see if there were parabens elsewhere, prove that the parabens caused the cancer, etc. For all we know the parabens were in a higher % elsewhere and were actually protective. There’s just a lot of data that isn’t super helpful, has confounders, and it’s a big muddle. Someone needs to do much better studies, but they’re extremely hard (or outright unethical) to perform. So, for now I’d say we’re kind of watching those things closely, but the evidence isn’t enough for concern.
