Pregnancy Safe Skincare from Tula Skincare

Pregnancy Safe Skincare from Tula Skincare

Pregnancy safe skincare can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products. The list has gotten so large that I’ve decided to start listing brands in their own individual posts.

Here you’ll find pregnancy safe skincare products from Tula Skincare as of 4/14/2020 (note, this is after they reformulated most of their products). If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. If they release a new product that is not listed here, please comment below and I will add it. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.

Please note, it can take up to an hour to review the ingredient lists of each product. I review with my own list of pregnancy safe criteria. I obtain my ingredient lists from the brands and major retailers (typically Nordstrom and Sephora), and I review the US versions. Please do not ask me to re-review the same products over and over, I do not have the time to do so, and many people have been rude about this. For more brands, please head over to the list of pregnancy safe products.

Here are my recommendations for a full pregnancy safe skincare routine from Tula Skincare!

Thank you for sharing and putting so much effort into this to make it easier for mamas to make safe, informed choices without spending a million years doing the research ourselves.

I am 6 weeks pregnant, and have used the Tula purifying cleanser, daily, until I realized, today, that it has retinyl palmitate, a form of retinol. I cried for about an hour, and am now so very worried that I have Done irreversible damage to my developing child. Please advise.

Tula reformulated almost their entire line in the fall of 2019, many of their products changed categories. Comments about safety before that time do not reflect the new formulations, which I very recently screened and are in the post above. Please don’t look comments to get safety information with the new formulations.

That’s a reformulation if true. This list looks ok, but check your package to make sure you have the new one. I just pulled the cleanser out of my cabinet (I may have bout like 5 when they were on sale on QVC last year), and retinyl palmitate is listed in the middle of the ingredients. I just updated above that it is pregnancy safe with this list of ingredients if that’s on yours!

Do you happen to have the ingredients of the day and night cream BEFORR they reformulated? I have a big bottle that I had before pregnancy that I wasn’t using while I was pregnant, but want to know if it is safe for breastfeeding. Unfortunately I don’t have the box anymore so I don’t have an ingredients list and their site of course only has the new, reformulated product.

The get toned toner is actually okay to use. Because it is only 10% glycolic acid, it will not enter the bloodstream. If the percentage is higher than 10 it is wise to stay away! Just thought I’d share!

This blog literally saved me! I used to use the acne foam cleanser and had to switch to the cult classic upon finding out I was pregnant. Wondering if you could tell me if the new So Powerless Deep Exfoliating & Blackhead face scrub is safe to use during pregnancy? Thank you so much!
