Pregnancy safe skincare can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products. The list has gotten so large that I’ve decided to start listing brands in their own individual posts.
Here you’ll find every pregnancy safe skincare product from DHC as of 6/29/2019. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. If they release a new product that is not listed here, please comment below and I will add it. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.
Don’t See Your Product? Read This Before You Ask About It…
Please read the Pregnancy Beauty Guide intro first, where you will learn which products you actually need to worry about (spoiler alert, you don’t need to worry about all makeup or hair products). I will not review products that fall into the “don’t worry about it” categories. If you want to ask about a specific product, I require that you follow these guidelines for asking about pregnancy/nursing safety. You can also learn more about how to use these pregnancy safety lists. I will delete questions that don’t follow the guidelines or are rude.

Hi doctor,
I wished I found your web site earlier in my pregnancy! (I am now 6 months pregnant) and did do my own research but your web site is the most comprehensive site I’ve ever seen on pregnancy-safe products. There is a relatively new line of products from DHC – the Uramai face products made of rice. This Urumai Cream is the one I am interested in and here is its ingredients list. Do you see anything of concern?
water/aqua/eau, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, ethylhexyl palmitate, diglycerin, propanediol, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucoside distearate, phytosteryl/isostearyl/cetyl/stearyl/behenyl dimer dilinoleate, c10-18 triglycerides, glyceryl stearate, vegetable oil, squalane, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, oryza sativa (rice) germ oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, phytosteryl/behenyl/octyldodecyl lauroyl glutamate, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl caprylate, sclerotium gum, glycogen, butylene glycol, oryza sativa (rice) callus culture extract, cetearyl glucoside, phytosteryl rice branate, dehydroxanthan gum, tocopherol, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil unsaponifiables, brassica campestris/aleurites fordi oil copolymer, rosa canina fruit oil, sodium citrate, brassica campestris (rapeseed) seed oil, citric acid, hydrolyzed rice protein, arginine, phytic acid, saccharomyces/rice bran ferment filtrate extract, oryza sativa (rice) extract, silver oxide.
Thank you!
It looks pregnancy and nursing safe to me! 🙂

The Dee cleansing oil says it has Licorice root but I’ve been looking at multiple ingredient lists and don’t see it, is it possible they’ve updated the formula ?

Hi Dr. I’ve used this line’s deep cleansing oil about 4-5 times in my 18 weeks of pregnancy. But I won’t anymore because I because I did not know about the licorice root ingredient :/ Is there any cause for concern with this ingredient before switching over to another pregnancy safe cleansing oil mentioned above as safe instead? Or is it ok to just stop all together before moving on with another? Thank you!
I would just stop and switch.
Discussion here: You’ve been using a product with a “bad” ingredient
