I treat all products that same for ingredients, though I recently stopped screening out Neem after discussion with some OB friends (all the evidence is in animal models that they don’t think are valid correlates for humans). You don’t need to worry about conditioner, it’s only applied to the hair which can’t absorb anything, so I don’t review those products. This shampoo is ok though!

You need to have such large amounts of those three to have any issues that it isn’t even recommended to avoid eating them (which is a much higher level of exposure, your skin’s main function is to be a barrier while your intestine is there to absorb things).

Correct. If you’re allowed to eat it (which you are) topical use should be fine. There are a bunch like this where yes, they do have findings in petri dishes, but those levels aren’t achievable at all, esp with things just found in makeup and lotion 🙂

I was wondering if you could explain the reservatrol in the Fruit Pigmented Full Coverage Water Foundation. I have read it could cause problems while taken orally and some say don’t apply topically either because of crossing to the placenta. Thank you sooooo much for this site! I am dealing with horrible skin sensitivity/MCAS issues post-Covid infection, as well as breastfeeding my toddler and have spent hours upon hours and hundreds of dollars trying to find skincare to help, but also be BF safe. 100% Pure is one of the few brands consistently labeled as MCAS friendly and I liked their products so I bought all new skincare and makeup during their sale this week, but of course started freaking out due to the essential oils and a few other ingredients and if this is BF safe. It’s one of those things that we don’t have evidence for avoiding topically and I don’t know any physicians that recommend avoiding it. Some discussion here: ingredients I’m not worried about during pregnancy

Hello! i have been using this shampoo
ATTITUDE SUPER LEAVES NOURISHING SHAMPOO and i noticed they have Salicylate in it but at the bottom it says with an * parfum. does that mean it’s not exactly Salicylate acid? thank you!
It means it is in the salicylate family, which is also something to avoid, though within a fragrance (previously that was always just “fragrance” and not something I screened out based on discussions with many other physicians, the feeling is that it’s such a tiny amount and also formulated to evaporate to give off the scent). But I would have screened that out if it had been that way when I reviewed, so they likely changed the formulation or started disclosing what’s in their fragrance. It’s up to you how comfortable you feel with it.
