I have a quick questions. I am looking for retional alternative or antiaging skincare element that is safe during pregnancy. I read in internet that bakuchiol is generally a safer alternative. Here it is listed as not safe. Are there other alternatives as such?
Bakuchiol acts via the same receptor mechanism as retinoids, which is why it should be avoided. You won’t find a true retinol alternative as they’d act through the receptor and therefore would also need to be avoided. You can still use niacinamide, Vitamin C and peptides while pregnant.
