Hi! Thank you so much for providing useful information regarding beauty and hair products! I however wanted to ask something: if a serum or a hairspray that contains an unsafe ingredient (e.g. salicylate) but I only use it on my mid hair to ends, why would it be unsafe? I can use gloves for no contact with skin. The spray gets absorbed to hair and there is no contact with face whatsoever.

When it’s listed as fragrance you don’t need to worry about it unless you have a sensitivity. Discussion is in here I think: ingredients I’m not worried about during pregnancy

Lactic acid is fine (it’s already found in the body, I measure levels in patients at work all the time, you just don’t want too much of it), glycolic acid is very well absorbed and should be avoided.
