Hi, I talked with my doctor and some image reps and they all told me the vit c wash is fine for pregnancy. I’m just confused. Also what would you recommend for serious hormonal acne during pregnancy that’s safe?
It’s pretty universally accepted within the medical community to avoid retinoids during pregnancy. Your doctor may not have realized the formulation contains that ingredient? Otherwise, it appears the reps don’t understand what is and is not pregnancy safe.

Can you please help me, if octinoxate and octisalate (IMAGE Skincare
PREVENTION+ Daily Ultimate Protection Moisturizer SPF 50) are safe for nursing? I read that octinoxate can be absorbed through the skin, so it’s showing up in plasma, urine and breast milk. Infant exposure through breastfeeding is especially concerning.

We have info to suggest that chemical sunscreens should be avoided in pregnancy, but currently we think they’re ok in nursing. If you’re concerned I would just avoid them.

Reason I ask – I got a facial and the facialist said this product is pregnancy friendly, so I had her use it, and after looking it up I’m in shock to see it listed, and now I am nervous.

Hi, thank you so much for compiling this! I recently purchased and have been using the Vital C hydrating anti-aging serum after seeing it listed as pregnancy safe somewhere. Now I see it’s marked as not safe on your list due to licorice root and chemical sunscreens. I tried googling common chemical sunscreen names and don’t see any of them in this list of ingredients. I don’t see licorice root either. Is it possible they changed the formula since you did this or is it hiding as one of the other crazy words I don’t recognize? Thanks!
