Pregnancy safe skincare can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products. The list has gotten so large that I’ve decided to start listing brands in their own individual posts.
Here you’ll find every pregnancy safe skincare product from Derma e as of 6/23/2019. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. If they release a new product that is not listed here, please comment below and I will add it. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.
Note, Derma E has recently changed the names of some of their products (Even Tone for example). I have linked to the correct products, the ingredients have been verified. Note there are a few products that picture the correct new product and then list the old name. Everything is ok! I have verified all of it.
How to Request a Product Review
I try to review all of the products that I can when I publish a list. Note, I am in the US and I only have access to US products. Please don’t be rude if I skipped your favorite cleanser, when items are out of stock sometimes they aren’t on the brand’s site, or maybe you are in Asia and I am in the US.
I reserve the comments on each post for reviews of product from that brand, this makes it easier for others to find products later. Please only ask about Derma e on this post, I will delete other product questions. You can find other brands here. If your brand is not included, please ask on the brand list post.

Not Safe for Pregnancy or Nursing
Note I’m including products with retinoids here, as those are a bit iffy. It depends on how conservative you want to be while nursing (still absolutely contraindicated while pregnant). Refer to my post on ingredients to avoid while nursing for more discussion.
There isn’t info out there on the safety of Cannabis used topically during pregnancy or nursing. We do know smoking marijuana with THC has bad effects and should be avoided, though it hasn’t been fully decided if it is just the THC or something else as well.
Note that in theory Hemp and CBD do not have THC in them, it’s breed out of the plant is the official status. However, depending upon how it was processed many CBD oils will test positive for THC. But there are still the unknowns we haven’t decided about. I would not recommend using Hemp or Cannabis products while nursing or pregnant for that reason.

Absolutely so happy that I found your blog. I’m pregnant with baby number 2 and have been searching high and low for skin care that is safe for me to use. With my first I was so clueless about skincare that I didn’t use any my entire pregnancy and my skin really suffered. With this second pregnancy I actually own more than half the pregnancy safe products on the derma e list and it makes me so happy that I can still use them!
Hello, you say you can’t use the hydrating gentle cleanser because of retiniod, but I don’t see that listed in their ingredients.
It’s the Retinyl Palmitate in the complete ingredient list.
Hello! Amazon sent me the wrong eye cream but this one is not on the list and wondering if I can keep it to use in pregnancy? Thank you!
Purified Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Plant Derived), Glycerin (Vegetable Derived), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Stearyl Alcohol (Plant Derived), Coco-Caprylate (Coconut Derived), Glyceryl Stearate (Vegetable Derived), Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Diheptyl Succinate, Dimethyl MEA (DMAE), Lycium Barbarum (InstaLift® Goji) Fruit Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Terminalia Ferdinandiana Fruit Extract, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 (Matrixyl® synthe’6®), Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline®NP), Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid; Actimoist®Bio-1), Thioctic (Alpha-Lipoic) Acid, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Ester), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Resveratrol, Copper PCA, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Caffeine, Butylene Glycol, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate (Vegetable Derived), Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
I’m not certain if the Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture is a stem cell ingredient. Sometimes stem cells are listed this way, but not always. I would check into what the brand is claiming about stem cells in the product. My concerns are in this post: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy.
It’s otherwise ok for pregnancy and nursing, so it’s really up to you.
Thanks a lot for all the efforts!
Hello, I just wanted to raise your attention to something- I bought the advanced peptide and collagen serum thinking it was pregnancy safe. On their website the ingredients look fine, but then it arrived and retinyl palminate is listed as one of the ingredients on the box. Is this ingredient safe still for pregnancy or should I not use this serum? Thankyou so much for your time and putting this list together.
Oh no! They must have reformulated but not updated info anywhere, I agree with you, I don’t see it listed in the ingredients on their website. I’m glad you checked! It isn’t safe. I’ve updated the post to reflect this info.

Hello,
Love that you have this-it is so helpful!
I am not seeing the Derma E products: Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum or Ultra-Hydrating Alkaline Overnight Facial.
Thank you 🙂
I have currently reviewed all products in this brand that I can. If I have not reviewed your products, I require a full ingredient list to review your product, more info here:
why I need an ingredient list to comment on product safety
How about the Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water Eye Gel??

Would the safe products be the same as of today? I use the vitamin c cleanser and I just ran out and found out I was pregnant. Being the second pregnancy, I remembered not all facial cleansers and creams are allowed.
Anyways, would the DMAE cleanser and the vitamin c serum be safe still? How about vitamin E IU 14000 plus safflower seed oil (its an oil product) ingredients state: carthamus tinctures (safflower) seed oil and tocopherol acetate (vitamin e)?
I’ve been using the derma e line for the past year and it has changed my skin for the better, so I want to make sure I dont let my skin get bad again even though I know my pregnancy is number 1. Thank you so much!!!!
If the products haven’t been reformulated they should be the same safety category

hello! I love the website, it is really well laid pout and easy to search for stuff. The one question I had is that you say you will note why the item is not pregnancy safe but I can’t seem to see where you have written that? Or is it that the ingredient you write next to the product not in bold, is the one that should be avoided?
I am specifically looking at some of the Derma E Acne serums / creams, are the ingredients to avoid Salicylic Acid and Willow Bark (Salicylate)?
The Acne Rebalancing Cream isn’t on here (I think it may be fairly new this summer) but I assume that is one to avoid while pregnant as it’s active ingredient is Salicylic Acid?
Thanks so much!
Yes, the ingredient next to each product is the one to avoid. Sometimes people disagree with me and don’t care about Licorice root for example, so if they know I was only worried about licorice root in a product it would be important. I tried to make it pretty obvious for each product.
The acne rebalancing cream may have been released after my last full brand review, but if it has salicylic acid I wouldn’t recommend using it while pregnant.
Hi, I just found out I’m pregnant, and have been using Derma E for awhile now (without knowing I’m pregnant). I just tossed aside the products I know I absolutely cannot use anymore, but, not sure of a few of these, if you wouldn’t mind taking a look. Thank you!!

Retinyl Palmitate
Thank you so much! I’ve thrown the eye cream. Used it without realizing it’s got retinol/retinoids :(:( very very nervous now.
Discussion here that might help: You’ve been using a product with a “bad” ingredient
