Some of My New Favorite Makeup Brushes: Maskcara Beauty Makeup Brush Review

Maskcara Makeup Brushes Review

I have a thing for makeup brushes. I have a ton of them, but I’m pretty picky about which ones I’ll use. My preferences:
– Soft bristles that don’t grab too much product
– Nicely weighted handle
– I don’t care about synthetic or natural bristles
– I’m not a snob when it comes to brushes. Many of my favorites are just a few dollars. The shape, bristles, etc. All of that is much more important to me than brand.
– I prefer single headed brushes, because I store my brushes in cups on top of my vanity area. They stand up.

Well, I’m in love with the Maskcara makeup brushes, and I’m ignoring the fact that they are double ended. I was sent one brush for review by Maskcara a few months ago, and I liked it so much that I went back and bought 4 more brushes (including a duplicate of the brush I was sent). I now have all of their brushes except for the B Squared Brush, and I am kind of regretting not buying it now.

Maskcara 30 Second HAC Makeup Brush

30 Second HAC Brush
This is the brush that started it all, the one I know own 2 of. Really.

One side is a rounded small kabuki shape, but slightly looser than most kabukis. It is perfect for doing contour under your cheekbones or blush on the apples of your cheeks. I use it for both, so hence my need for 2. The other side is more pointed and a bit smaller, I like it for blending and applying concealer under my eyes.

Maskcara Powder Setting Brush Review

Powder Setting Brush
This is a uniquely shaped brush. The darker brown side is curved a bit on just one side and is great for applying highlighter to the cheekbones and down my t-zone. The other side is just angled, and I have been using it to apply a matte bronzer as a contour. It took awhile to get the hang of using the 2 sides of the brush, but it really works well!

Maskcara Multitasker Makeup Brush Review

The Multitasker
This brush was really made for contouring the nose, and it is perfect for that. I use the wider, flat end for the shading on the sides and the smaller end for highlighting down the center. But it is also perfect for shadows, especially cream ones, and eye liner smudging. I think the smaller end would also be great for concealing over a blemish, but haven’t had one since I got the brush so we’ll see!

Maskcara i Shadow Makeup Brush Review

I Shadow Everything Brush
One end is a bigger and fluffier version of my typical crease brush, the other is great for applying shadow to very specific areas, if I want to be more detailed. This brush isn’t enough to do all of my shadow (I need a regular fluff brush still), but I do really like it!

Over all I do really love these brushes, and I’m regretting not picking up the final brush, the B Squared Brush. I’ll likely pick it up when I buy the next Maskcara launch, which sounds like it will be a face cream from Cara’s comments on Instagram!

In the meantime, I’m coping with these brushes being double ended. Instead of storing them with my other brushes on my vanity, I’m storing them in a drawer. Let me know if you have a better idea!
