Freeze 24/7 Skin Smoothie Review

Freeze 24 7 Skin Smoothie Glycolic Peel Review

If you’ve read my blog for a while, you’ve noticed that I talk about exfoliation a lot, but I don’t often mention how I think you should exfoliate. There are 2 options: physical or chemical. Physical exfoliation is through a scrub, a washcloth, even a deep cleansing brush will gently exfoliate. Chemical exfoliation is pretty much just a peel, though sometimes you’ll find enough alpha or beta hydroxy acid in a product that it will gently exfoliate with daily use.

I’m usually more of a physical exfoliation girl, I use my Clarisonic 2-3 times a week depending on how my skin is handling it. I can only handle a gentle chemical peel now that I have rosacea (fun times!), so something that works fast, gets results but is still gentle… yes, that sounds great to me!

Easy to travel with Glycolic Acid review

One of the best things about this peel is how easy it is to use. You stick your fingers into the pocket, peel off the covering, and there’s a little pad that’s soaked with the Skin Smoothie solution. It doesn’t really have much scent, and it’s almost like a gel. Just rub it all over your face and let the 10% Glycolic Acid go to work! Once it’s absorbed you can go ahead and just apply the rest of your skin care products, the Skin Smoothie moderates itself, it won’t go crazy and way overdo itself on your skin.

When you first start using this product they recommend using it every 7-10 days, but you should play it by ear and slowly start using the product more frequently. Some people might work their way up to 2-3 times a week, but it depends on your skin.

Note that this is a product you leave on overnight, not a peel. You don’t time yourself and rinse the Skin Smoothie off. There’s a patented ingredient (they call it microsponge technology) which does a sloooooow release of the glycolic acid while you sleep. Because of that slow release, your skin is able to handle the product much better.

Note that despite the sensitivity I have with my rosacea, I can tolerate the Skin Smoothie just fine. I don’t have redness and irritation, but I do feel a little sensitive, so I don’t use this product more than once every week or so depending on how my skin is doing otherwise.

It definitely makes my skin very smooth. I noticed an improvement in my pores and my skin tone seemed to be more even as well. I love that the pads are so self contained, they’re absolutely perfect for travel! I never really know how my skin will react to travel (sometimes I get dry, sometimes I’m lackluster, sometimes I breakout), so for now one I’ll be traveling with a Skin Smoothie!

It's always wonderful to find products that we love and even better finding products that work. One quick note regarding the Skin Smoothie by Freeze 24/7, the product contains glycolic acid, an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that is capable of exfoliating the top layer of skin, thus making it a great option for those with dry and or sun damaged skin. However, like all exfoliants, a proper sunscreen is needed to minimize irritation and prevent damage from the sun. Equally, going without sunscreen while exfoliating can cause skin to age at a rate faster than most would like, kill skin cells (apoptosis), and induce or worsen skin discolorations. Also, keep in mind that a proper sunscreen will have a SPF of 15 or greater, be free of fragrance, and offer broad-spectrum protection. Cheers to beautiful skin.

Is it suitable for all skin types? I have very dry skin and I have to hydrate my skin 3-4 times a day. I use gentle facial exfoliates from Image skincare. But I would love to have something more practical being a part of my routine skincare. xx
