If only we all had perfect hair. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. There’s always something you want to fix. Whether that’s dryness, damaged and split ends, brassiness, frizz or you just want to add volume at the roots, it’s hard to know how to fix things. Over the years I’ve fought all of those hair battles, here are my favorite products to fix all of those issues!
I have two favorite products that help rehydrate my hair, deciding between the two depends upon how much time you have.
My favorite treatment for dry hair is Darshana Hair Oil (here’s my Darshana review). It will not make your hair greasy! I put it very liberally in my hair and leave it in as long as possible. I’ve even done overnight, but if that worries you try throwing your hair up in a bun for a few hours and then washing it out. The results are amazing!
If you don’t have time for an overnight treatment, then try swapping out your usual conditioner for Aussie 3 Minute Miracle in Moist (see my review here). It works fast and won’t weigh down your hair.
For damaged hair, I like to take a multi-product approach.
First, look for Olaplex (here’s my Olaplex review). Again, I actually sleep with this in my hair, it won’t weigh it down at all, but a few hours is ok too. This one resets the disulfide bonds in hair and repairs damage. My stylist adds it in to bleach for me as well, which helps with that damage right away.
Next, I love to use Kerastase Fusio-Dose. I get the treatment in the salon, and also bring home a kit to use every few weeks at home. You can see my in salon and at home reviews. I’m not certain exactly what the treatment does, but it dramatically cuts down on my split ends, makes my hair look much healthier and it only takes a few minutes.
When my hair is frizzy, it’s actually mostly dry. So, I’ll do the dry hair treatments, but sometimes I just need to smooth a little frizz. I use a hair oil then. I have a bunch of them at home, but the one I reach for most often is Redken Diamond Oil. I only need a few drops, I just smooth it over my palms than then over my hair and instantly the frizz looks better.
You know what I mean by brassiness. When your hair takes on an overly gold or orange tint? It doesn’t only happen to blondes, though they suffer from brassiness the most. I love Kenra’s Brightening Line to deal with this issue. They have a shampoo, conditioner, and a 10 minute treatment that help with this problem. You can see my review, but this stuff really does work right away.
I have a lot of hair. Which sounds great, but it means that my hair tends to weigh itself down and still look flat and lanky. My favorite product for combating this is Redken Guts 10, a mousse that you spray right at your roots to add a ton of volume. You can check out my Redken Guts 10 Review.
