    Hi,

Your website is amazing and so helpful!

I just wanted to double check the Polypeptide Collagen Boosting Serum S8 (it’s on the safe list). Here are the ingredients from the UK website:

Aqua, Propanediol, Gluconolactone, Urea, Glycerin, Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Dextran, Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3, Sodium Phytate, Lactobionic Acid, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate

Do these ingredients look okay and is gluconolactone safe to use in pregnancy and nursing?

    Thanks,
    Lisa

I think they redid it! The US website says NEW on it now, and has the same ingredients as the UK. It’s Ok for nursing but not pregnancy due to the gluconolactone, thanks for noticing that.

I saw a new serum from FaceTheory, i checked the INCI and seems fine but hope you’ll have time to check:
Hylafecta 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum S14:
Aqua, Pentylene Glycol (humectant derived from sugar cane), Hyaluronic Acid (humectant), Sodium Hyaluronate (salt of hyaluronic acid), Cistus Incanus Flower/leaf/stem extract (skin conditioning ingredient), Sodium Benzoate (preservative), Benzoic Acid (preservative), Sodium Phytate (chelating agent), Phenylpropanol (preservative), 1,2 – Hexanediol (preservative)

Moreover, i noticed that on facetheory website there is a https://eu.facetheory.com/pages/routine-pregnancy-safe
There are very few products, i would try to ask them how they make this list, why so restrictive.

Is ferulic acid a safe ingredient during pregnancy? 16 weeks pregnant here, have been using the Relaxing Night Cream M10 since before conception, and just read on a website that this ingredient should be avoided…freaking out here!

You can pretty much find info out there about avoiding everything possible, much of which isn’t based on much. It’s not considered an ingredient to avoid by the medical community. My list of ingredients that I screen out is very conservative and it’s here: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy

Aqua, propanediol (humectant from corn syrup), butyloctyl salicylate (ester of salicylic acid), azelaic acid (15%, derived from wheat), polyglyceryl-6 stearate (vegetable emulsifier), glycerin (humectant from rapeseed), polyglyceryl-4 oleate (vegetable emulsifier), avena sativa (oat) kernel flour, glyceryl caprylate (emulsifier), sodium anisate (preservative from aniseed), sodium levulinate (preservative from sugar cane), polyglyceryl-6 behenate (vegetable emulsifier), rosa canina (rosehip) fruit extract, cetyl hydroxyethylcellulose (vegetable thickener), xanthan gum (rheology modifier), sodium phytate (salt of phytic acid), aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract.

Is the salicylic acid in it okay for everyday use? I read online that it is only okay for short periods of time.
