Pregnancy safe skincare can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products. The list has gotten so large that I’ve decided to start listing brands in their own individual posts.
Here you’ll find every pregnancy safe skincare product from Renée Rouleau as of 4/6/2019. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. If they release a new product that is not listed here, please comment below and I will add it. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.
How to Request a Product Review
I try to review all of the products that I can when I publish a list. Note, I am in the US and I only have access to US products. Please don’t be rude if I skipped your favorite cleanser, when items are out of stock sometimes they aren’t on the brand’s site, or maybe you are in Asia and I am in the US.
I reserve the comments on each post for reviews of product from that brand, this makes it easier for others to find products later. Please only ask about Renée Rouleau on this post, I will delete other product questions. You can find other brands here. If your brand is not included, please ask on the brand list post.

Looks ok
Renee Rouleau Total eye repair cream now has licorice root in it : https://www.reneerouleau.com/collections/eye-care-treatments/products/total-eye-repair-creme
So it actually isn’t listed in the ingredients list, just on the “key ingredients”, which in my experience isn’t always correct. I’ll reach out to them and see!
I emailed and already heard back! This was a fantastic response, I’m very pleased with Renée Rouleau! This was Polina, their lead customer service rep, she’s also an esthetician. Great to know that if you email them you’ll get great advice from an esthetician as well 🙂
Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I did some investigating and spoke with our lab in regards to the ingredients in our Total Eye Repair Creme and it looks like it was listed on our product page by mistake. I’m currently working with our web team to correct this!
We pride ourselves on providing others with transparent information about what is in our skincare products, so we apologize for any confusion that this may have caused. Please let us know if you have any further questions. As always, we are here to help!
So, it looks like the licorice root was mistakenly listed under the key ingredients. It can stay under the “pregnancy safe” category!
Licorice Root is actually not listed on the ingredients from the Pure Radiance Creme Masque on their website.. https://www.reneerouleau.com/products/pure-radiance-creme-masque
Yes it is, it is the Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate.
Hi there! Have you reviewed the rapid response detox cleanser? https://www.reneerouleau.com/collections/cleansers/products/rapid-response-detox-cleanser
It looks like you’ve only done the mask. Thank you!!
Looks ok!
Hello, I appreciate how you’ve put all of this together! I’ve been referring to it quite a bit. However, I am a bit confused. On their website in the FAQs section, it’ll say if it’s pregnancy safe. For example, the Vitamin-Infused Cleansing Emulsion, Vitamin C Eye Brightener, and the Ultra Gentle Smoothing Serum. I bought these in the beginning of my pregnancy due to them having this info on their website. Can you clarify why they would be so sure that something is safe if you’re staying it’s not? Thank you!
The studies we need to perform to know if these things are actually safe are unethical to perform. So we make assumptions and sometimes extrapolate from other types of studies, or from studies in animals. My list is pretty conservative, but mostly based upon what I’ve read in the medical literature (I’m a pediatrician, we get training in what is ok during nursing, the same books also list what is fine while pregnant and it’s the same process. OB gets the same training). There’s some more in depth discussion about this in this post: pregnancy beauty FAQ
