My Latest Winter Skincare Obsession: Olay Regenerist Whip Review

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that I have been obsessing over a new moisturizer this fall. It was sent to me unbranded, so I wouldn’t be swayed by the brand. All I knew is the product was called Whip.

Olay Regenerist Whip Moisturizer Results

The first time I tried this moisturizer, I could see a difference in my skin. I swear, my skin was a bit dry and irritated from playing outside with my daughters, and when I first applied this moisturizer that night, I could feel my skin soaking up the hydration. The next morning, my skin was still super hydrated and glowy, but it wasn’t heavy on my skin. I was seriously in love.

Olay Regenerist Whip Moisturizer has a bouncy and light texture

How it Feels

Fast forward a few weeks, and I was finally sent a branded jar of the moisturizer, and discovered that it was Olay’s new Whip! This new moisturizer has a very interesting texture. It reminds me a bit of a mousse, it has a light and springy feel and almost melts into my skin. You can see in the picture above the traditional Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, which is a cream. The Whip is on the right, it’s a bit airier and is already melting into my hand as I take this picture.

Whip absorbs very quickly, and it leaves behind no greasy residue on my skin despite being very hydrating. It doesn’t feel heavy on my face at all, it just makes me feel hydrated. I love that the finish is really more of a semi-matte, which makes this the perfect moisturizer for under makeup!

Olay Regenerist Whip Moisturizer is full of great antiaging ingredients that are gentle enough for everyone's skin

The Ingredients

A quick look at the ingredient list for the Regenerist Whip reveals why it is so gentle, but still has a lot of anti-aging power.

Anti-Aging Ingredients
Niacinamide: A form of Vitamin B3 with anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory effects.
Peptides: Super gentle, peptides increase collagen production by skin cells.

Hydrating Ingredients
I wanted to point out there are plenty of great moisturizers in this product, including Glycerin, Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate.

My Results

I’ve been using the moisturizer for about 6 weeks or so now, and I’m very happy with my results so far. My skin feels smooth and hydrated. I frequently have dry areas this time of year, and that isn’t the case now.

I’ve been using Olay Regenerist Whip under my makeup each day as it creates a great, hydrated base for my makeup. Usually, I’m reaching for a heavy moisturizer this time of year to combat the dryness, but then it feels heavy on my skin and by mid-afternoon I’m a greasy mess. The Regenerist Whip fixes those problems.

I know I’ll be using Olay’s Regenerist Whip a lot this winter. What moisturizer are you currently loving? Make sure you check out all of the new Olay Whips here!

I was ready to buy this, but then noticed it contains fragrance, which you did not mention. I really wish cosmetics companies would stop putting fragrance in products that go on faces. Not only are they known irritants, but they also trigger my allergies/asthma and sometimes just smell bad. I do not want perfume on my face. I know they have a fragrance-free version of the Micro-sculpting cream, so I was hopeful they learned something.

This does have fragrance, it smells the same as the regular version of the microsculpting cream. Perhaps if the product is popular enough it will be released as fragrance free. Personally, I am an asthmatic as well, but I don’t get triggered by this scent.

Yeah, I agree about the unimportance of fragrance in skincare. Particularly, I sampled Olay Whip and it was like straight perfume. I don’t mind perfume in my body or hand cream but golly! I was smelling perfume for the rest of the day, which definitely sucked when I ate dinner lol. I do like the consistency of the product but until it’s fragrence-free, it’s a hard pass.

The scent is definitely stronger in the Whips than in the classic cream version

Is this the same as the micro sculpting cream or a different product? Do you prefer one over the other?

It’s a different product, but the formulations are very similar in terms of the active ingredients. The have different textures. I think the whip is more hydrating, so better for drier skin or the winter. I like both!

Hi! I’ve been curious about this product, thanks for the review. Do you use this as a daytime AND nighttime moisturizer? Many thanks!

Yes! I’ve been using it for both. I slather it on a bit more at night, but it’s great under my makeup in the morning.

I have older skin. I’m a young 70 and still care about the way I look. I use the Okay Regenerous creme and wonder which is best for my aging skin.

I am allergic to caffeine, which is in a lot of eye creams. Do you know if this contains any caffeine?
