A few days ago I was having… a moment. I was busy at work and at home. Everything was a tad overwhelming. And I wanted to pamper myself. I happened to have a new Dior gift set in my Sephora cart, and I went for it! And because I was busy with so much on my to do list, but I also wanted things right away… I placed a same day delivery order for myself from Sephora. Have you done this yet? I ordered items that were in stock at my local store, selected Same Day Delivery at check-out, and a few hours later they were on my doorstep! It was instant gratification, without a trip to the mall.
One thing I do miss with the Same Day delivery is access to the huge Beauty Insider Rewards Bazaar! I love using the points that I’ve saved up on deluxe samples, which are perfect for trying out new products or taking with me when I travel. C’est la vie, it’s worth missing out to have the same day delivery! I have to admit that this set is 100% my main reason for placing that same day order. This is one of the new gift sets for the holidays, and I have a feeling this will sell out fast! This set is a serious deal. It has an amazing velvet makeup bag (the zippers even say “Dior” on them), which is just the right size to carry with you every day, carrying essentials. I love that it has the CD logo, so simple and chic! The bag itself is very well made and is worth more than the whole set.
Inside there’s a mini size of the Capture Totale Le Serum (a great hydrating serum that works for all skin types) and a tiny cute bottle of Miss Dior perfume. Also included are my favorite lip balm in the classic Pink shade, and the matching Lip Maximizer gloss, also one of my favorites.
Long story short: I bought it for the great bag (no regrets!), but got 2 of my all time favorite lip products along with it. Buy a few extras, this one will be super easy to gift to friends and family over the holidays.
Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes Eyeshadow Palette
I’m a sucker for neutral palettes, and this release by Makeup by Mario is amaaaaazing! I love the mixture of matte and shimmer shadows, which Mario seems to do so well. If you don’t have his Master Mattes palette yet, you need to pick it up! This is a huge staple for me, it lives on my vanity countertop.
The Ethereal Eyes palette has a great combination of light and dark neutrals, without having too much red in the shades. This palette was a previous release, sold out quickly (and was going for insane amounts on eBay), but luckily it’s out again!
I tend to be pretty simple with this palette, a light matte all over, slightly darker in the crease, and then I blend a light layer of a shimmer all over that. My liner is either an actual liner, or the darkest matte smudged into the lash line.
I do think the mattes are well pigmented, but because they’re pretty close you do need to be careful or they can get a tad muddy with blending. I also found the shimmers to be very shimmery and powdery. I use a shorter bristled, slightly denser brush and pat them on to the lid.
Fenty Skin Butta Drop Warm Cinnamon Body Cream
I’ve been a big fan of the Fenty Butta Drops for a while. It’s a super hydrating body lotion/cream that leaves my skin with a nice sheen. I have the original and I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve repurchased the refills, I also have the travel sized version (which I refill from the bigger tub).
The “new” Warm Cinnamon seems to be the same as my previous Warm Shimmering Gold version. It smells like a cinnabon, have the same super hydrating capabilities, and leaves a very light shimmering tint to my skin. It’s enough to catch the light, but it doesn’t look like you have glitter all over. If you are attending any special events, you need to grab a tub of the Butta Drop Warm Cinnamon to wear to the event! The difference is subtle but real. I think it makes a big difference.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Now that the weather has started to turn colder, my skin is in need of some extra moisture. Right as I was planning my Sephora Same Day Delivery order, I went looking for my beloved Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and realized… I was somehow completely out? I was shocked. This is something that I keep well stocked in my bathroom, I usually have 1-2 back up bottles at all times. So a bottle was promptly added to delivery order.
If you haven’t tried Midnight Recovery yet, you need to add one to your Sephora cart now! I don’t use it daily, but I’ll add a few drops into my nightly skincare routine 2-3 times a week when the weather is cold. Those drops of oil translate into a lot of hydration and make my skin much more glowy and resilient. I even use it on my hands when they are particularly dry and painful.
