All the Curling Wands You’ll Ever Need: HSI Groover Master Kit Review

HSI Curling Wand Set Review

Today for Makeup Wars we’re sharing our favorite hair products. I have to admit that since I write a lot about hair products I felt like I had already covered this topic a lot lately. So I’ll be sharing my current go-to hair styling tool instead!

See that black bag? Inside of that black bag is something very special. It’s the HSI Professional Groover Master Kit. This thing has a plug in base and then 10 (yes, ten) different attachments. This pretty much the ultimate set of curling rods. No matter what look you want to achieve, from beachy waves to spiral curls.

HSI Professional interchangeable curling rod set review

The set is really very easy to use. Each of the attachments has an end that just slides into the base, then you twist the ring to lock it into place. You can change it even when the attachment is hot, though I strongly recommend wearing the included heat resistant glove when you swap out the attachment.

The cord is actually pretty long, and I love that it swivels around 360 degrees and does get tangled. Overall it is really very easy to use the curling rod, you just turn it on and set the temperature (250-400 degrees) and it heats up almost immediately. Note that there’s also an option for either 100v or 240v, making this ideal for international travel.

Big curling wand set different sizes and shapes

Note there are wands of different calibers in a tapered shape (perfect for beachy waves), a few specialty shapes (more irregularity in the waves) and also a few sizes of more traditional curling irons with clips. I love that a lot of sizes are included, this makes it really easy to incorporate a few sizes of curls into my look.

I have to admit that for months I’ve been trying to get good pictures of my hair with each of the attachments, but have been largely unsuccessful. Let’s face it, we’re really mostly wondering about the “ribbed” curling wands, right? The ribbed attachments look completely crazy, but I just wrap my hair around them like other traditionally shaped wands. When the hair is released the curl is a little less of a spiral curl, and it’s hard to tell but the inside part of that curl is even more irregular. After a quick comb out with a wide tooth comb and a few hours these curls will be even more irregular and they’ll just be very pretty.

What do you think, would you use such a huge curling wand set? I’ve been loving the number of options this set gives me!

What an interesting wand set. I was with someone on Mother’s Day that this would be perfect for. She has the kind of hair that looks beautiful with waves.

I’m too much of a klutz to use an iron with no clip! This set would be all you’d ever need!
