Biossance’s products feature squalane, a stable product-ready ingredient that’s very similar to squalene, which is naturally produced by your skin and part of your skin’s natural moisturizing factor, important to barrier function. As we age our bodies produce less squalene, and as a result you may notice your skin becomes drier or more sensitive. Supporting barrier function is key not only for those that have issues such as eczema, but for anyone that wants healthy, glowy skin.
Personally, I used to have combination skin, but now I’m developing dryness on my cheeks and forehead. My skin can be a little sensitive due to rosacea as well. I need gentle products that won’t irritate my skin, but I also hate when products feel heavy and greasy on my face. I’ve been trying out some of Biossance’s best products recently, and I had to share more about them!
This is that perfect moisturizing but not too heavy cream that you’ve been looking for. It has lipids that work well with your skin’s natural moisture barrier including squalane, omega fatty acids, ceramides and plant sterols.
I’ve been using it nightly over the Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum, and then in the morning over Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum. I’ve found that works great with other products, adding moisture and the finish is more satin, not shiny. My sensitive skin has been loving it, and it’s perfect for under makeup skin prep!
It’s hard to find a lactic acid based product for exfoliation. This one is gentle enough for daily use on my sensitive skin, I have had no irritation. It works quickly, giving me results within a few days. It feels more like a serum-lotion hybrid than a traditional serum, and it sinks into my skin quickly, feeling soothing and hydrating. I love that it has no scent as well. I’ve been using it nightly and my skin is smoother and glowier the next morning. Over time, this promises to diminish fine lines.
I’m not sure that this product is accurately named. I feel like calling this just a sunscreen is a real disservice. Really, this is an amazing daily moisturizer that happens to have a mineral sunscreen. If you’re looking for a new daily lotion/sunscreen combo, this is a great choice. It is lightweight on your skin but adds quite a bit of hydration. It sinks into my skin quickly, leaving a satin finish and no white cast. This is perfect for wearing under makeup daily, and you likely don’t need to pair it with another product unless your skin is particularly dry. It’s even reef safe.
Am I the only one that thinks some serums are a bit sticky feeling on the skin? This one is not sticky. It is more like a gel-lotion hybrid, and it absorbs into my skin almost immediately. I swear I can see it moisturizing my skin, as I massage it in I look more glowy. I’ve loved using this every morning, it’s great for prepping skin for makeup. Most days I can use it alone, but if I need a little more hydration (confession, this happens if I was outside a lot the day before in the cold winter wind), then I can layer the Squalane + Omega Repair Cream over the Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum.
The secret is a trio of hydrators that don’t feel heavy on your skin: hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid, and squalane. The serum also has copper peptides to boost skin’s collagen production. In a clinical study, 100% of people noticed an instant boost of hydration in skin, and 97% noticed improvement in skin firmness.
