Pregnancy Skincare Routine: Clean at Sephora Products

Clean at Sephora, a complete pregnancy safe skincare routine!

As part of my Pregnancy Skincare and Beauty Guide, I have reviewed thousands of products for pregnancy safety, screening out the ingredients you should avoid while pregnant or nursing. I even have a list of beauty brands, and you can look for your favorite pregnancy safe products.

However, those lists can be overwhelming. There’s a lot to dig through! So readers have started to ask for my specific recommendations for a skincare routine. Please refer to my free pregnancy book to see how I recommend using these products.

Today, I’m starting this series of skincare routines with one based on Clean at Sephora products. This isn’t a brand, rather it is a collection of brands and products available at Sephora, with ingredients such as Parabens, Sulfates and others left out. These ingredients aren’t necessarily dangerous during pregnancy (you can read more about my recommended ingredients to avoid during pregnancy), so I do not screen them out of my pregnancy safe skincare lists. However, many of my readers do want to avoid these ingredients, so I usually just recommend looking for products on my pregnancy safe lists that also happen to be Clean at Sephora.

I’ll recommend a few products for each product category, that will give you a few options. There is a very long list of brands that meet the Clean at Sephora criteria, and many of them are included in my brand list of Pregnancy Safe Skincare And Makeup Products. I’m primarily featuring my favorites here, which means a lot of REN Skincare, Caudalie and Tatcha.

How to Request a Product Review

I have now purposefully turned off the comments on this post. If your product is not here, please look for the brand in my list of brands that I have reviewed for pregnancy and nursing safety. If the brand is listed, ask about your product on the brand page. If not, please ask on the main brand page. Note, the brand pages are usually the most up to date, the round ups do not get updated routinely. So in the case of a conflict, the brand page should win.

The Core Trio

These are the basic, gentle products that you’ll use throughout your pregnancy.

Cleanser

REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk
Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

Moisturizer

REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream
B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum

Sunscreen

REN Clean Screen Mattifying Face Sunscreen SPF 30
Biossance Squalane + Mineral SPF 45

Treat Acne

Caudalie Vinopure Natural Oil Control Moisturizer
Tatcha The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser

Fix Dryness

These products can be swapped out or added to the core trio.

REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm: This is a super moisturizing balm that you use at night, I would just swap this out for your moisturizer at night
Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream

Target Hyperpigmentation and Aging with Vitamin C

Vitamin C will treat both hyperpigmentation and help boost collagen production to fight aging, not to mention strong antioxidant activity to prevent damage from free radicals.

REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream
Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

Not fully needed, but probably wanted and appreciated!

REN Keep Young and Beautiful Anti-Ageing Eye Cream
Tata Harper Illuminating Eye Crème

Lip Balm

Bite Beauty Agave+ Daytime Vegan Lip Balm
Josie Maran Argan Lip Sting Plumping Butter

Face Masks

REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial: This is one of my all time favorite masks! I take it with me to work so if I want a little pick me up in the call room I can do a quick facial treatment.
Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment

Here’s my opinion on the Cannabis:
There isn’t info out there on the safety of Cannabis used topically during pregnancy or nursing. We do know smoking marijuana with THC has bad effects and should be avoided, though it hasn’t been fully decided if it is just the THC or something else as well. Note Hemp does not have THC in it, it’s breed out of the plant basically. But there are still the unknowns we haven’t decided about. I would not recommend using Hemp or Cannabis products while nursing or pregnant for that reason.

Otherwise the first moisturizer looks fine, but the Cannabis oil is there. The 2nd looks ok to me.

Hello! I love your website and appreciate all the helpful information about products to use that are safe during pregnancy.

I am looking for new products to use during my pregnancy and noticed that the drunk elephant B hydra intensive serum is listed as safe on this post but not listed as safe on tour drunk elephant products review post due to the licorice root. Can you clarify?

    Thank you!

I think it was reformulated at some point. The brand posts are usually more up to date (I always state the date I most recently reviewed), and it does have licorice root in it currently
