NARSissist Toujours L'Amour Eyeshadow Palette Review and swatch

Have you seen the newest NARS shadow palette yet? It is everything. Everything.

The shadows are just a little bit creamy almost, very well pigmented, and they blend very well. They last all day, but I still recommend using them over a lid primer as usual. I love that the palette has a nice range of neutral shadows but a few not-crazy accent colors.

I – Cream Bisque
V – Golden Starlight
IX – Industrial Steel

Cream Bisque is basically the same color as my skin. I’ve found that it is really easy to just use that color all over my lid as a color wash. I then line my lash line with a dark brown or black liner, a thin line right at the base of my lashes. I then use a smudge brush to blend out the line, but first I’ve dipped it into one of the accent colors in the palette (usually Pistol Grey or Industrial Steel). It adds just a bit of definition at my lash line, the color adds depth, but over all the look is pretty neutral. I like to do this when I have very little time (it’s hard to mess up!) or when I want to wear a bright, statement lippie.

II – Shimmering Pink Sand
VI – Sunburst Copper
X – Regal Blue

While it does seem to have a little bit of pink in it if you look very closely, Shimmering Pink Sand is actually very close to Cream Bisque, other than the obvious bit of shimmer and very slightly darker. I sometimes will mix the two colors together and then do the overall color wash that I mentioned before. I’ve also used Regal Blue as an accent color on my lash line, and it is amazing. Amazing.

III – Amethyst Ash
VII – Café Au Lait
XI – Shimmering Taupe Cashmere

I think the colors are a tad lighter in this image than they usually come out when I apply them to my eye, but this trio is really the core of this palette. These neutral shadows work well alone all over the eye, in combination together, or with pretty much any of the others in the palette.

IV – Black Truffle
VIII – Pistol Grey
XII – Shimmering Liquorice

Black, dark metal grey and a shimmery black. These are all perfect for adding a lot of drama, but if you’re on the more subtle end of things (a really dark smoky eye isn’t a great look for me with my super pale skin), then these are really great smudged at your lash line with or without an eye liner.
