I'm a big fan of Urban Decay's eye liners, and if you haven't tried them you should! They have a huge array of colors that are almost but not quite black or plain brown, which I really love! Using a gun metal grey or a dark brown with bronze flecks in it can add a lot more depth to an eye look than the old stand by (not to mention the look is often less harsh, which is good for my super pale skin).
The Urban Decay Ocho Loco set (you can see the original Urban Decay Ocho Loco Set at my friend Phyrra's site) was a great way to try out a lot of their eye liners, and now they've replaced it with this follow up, the Ocho Loco2. I confess that I think this is better than the first set! It has more every day darks and a few fun shades, the last set only had 2 pencils that I consider every day shades (Perversion and Hustle), and the others were fun but I prefer having a nice 50/50 balance of everyday and fun colors.
These liners are very smooth for application and well pigmented, so they are really easy to use, just a quick swipe and the color you want is there. I've found that they color is easy to smudge for about a minute or so, so when using these pencils I initially draw a line in my lash line (I go right in there with the lashes and ignore them, I want the pencil in the roots of the lashes), and then a quick second line above my lash line, but overlapping the first. I like to have a thicker eye liner line, it helps to deal with my big eye lids! Then I grab a smudge brush and run it over all of the liner, blending it together and out.
Once I've smudged that's it, I'm out of time! The liner does. not. budge. Which I seriously love!
Perversion and Crave are two of my go-to eye liner colors, but lately I've been using them only on my upper lash line and going for something a bit more interesting on the lower lash line. Twice Baked and Roach are just really pretty, the shimmer is just enough to pick up some light but without being too glittery. On days that I'm not at work and want something fun, the other colors are a great change! Tornado is the easiest for me to wear, though I'm looking for an excuse to play with Deep End.
I should also mention that Grindhouse, a great double sharpener. I've found that UD's sharpeners have a really high quality blade, so they do last longer than the cheap ones.
What do you think? Have you tried Urban Decay's liners?
