Anastasia's Lavish Set for Holiday 2013: Review and Swatches

Anastasia's Lavish Set for Holiday 2013

In the past I've really loved Anastasia's holiday sets. Their shadows are always well pigmented and almost creamy, if that is possible with a powder shadow. And this season, instead of getting just a great palette, you're also getting some of their best selling products.

There are 10 shadows included in the set, and really my only problem with them is that they come in a plastic sleeve. And while the whole box is nice and sturdy, if you're going to travel with the shadows you'd take the sleeve. And that isn't really quite enough to protect them.

Ballet, Antique and Pink Sapphire (which is really more of an Amethyst) are my favorites. I want to use Black Diamond as a liner, but just haven't gotten there yet!

The shadows are all well pigmented and not too powdery.

Inside of that box, you'll find the real reason to buy this set!

Included you'll find:
• Anastasia Beverly Hills Tweezer (full sized)
• Mini Perfect Brow Pencil
• Mini Covet Waterproof Eyeliner
• Dual ended lining and blending brush

The tweeezers! OMG, the Anastasia tweezers! You want them. Yes, you do! They're $28 on their own, and the whole set is $38. I've been using the same set of Anastasia tweezers for about 6 years, and while I've been given a ton of other tweezers (mostly by Tweezerman), none have come remotely close to the Anastasia set.

I'm saving my mini perfect brow pencil for travel, and watch for a full Covet Waterproof Liner review soon (but they're good, I have their full set for the holidays and it's a steal). I'm not a fan of 2 sided brushes for everyday use (I like to stand mine up to store them), but I love them for travel.

So, a new set of my favorite tweezers (ermahgerd!) and minis of a few products that I really like, a good eye brush for travel and some very pretty shadows. I definitely think this set is worth it!

  1. I agree that the star is inside the box. The shadows look nice but not necessarily different. But for $10 more than their tweezers, it's a great deal.
