When this little quad arrived on my doorstep, I did made embarrassing squeal and ran for my makeup vanity to try it out immediately. I've been on the look out for a good matte palette that wasn't too.... blah? And I was hoping that the richness of these shades meant that I was holding the perfect quad.
What I discovered is that matte can be surprisingly difficult to work with on its own. You don't realize how much you depend upon a little shimmer distracting the eye from slightly imperfect blending or uneven application until suddenly... the shimmer isn't there any more.
So, I'm actually mostly using these matte shadows in looks with a little bit of shimmer (mostly added in using the pigments from this collection, which I'll showcase tomorrow). But, you do have to admit that they're pretty!
Note that the light pink really is swatched on the far left, it is just nearly impossible to see on me because it fades into my skin so insanely well.
