A Few Good Brushes...

I thought that for today's makeup post I'd share a few brushes that I've been reaching for over and over again, but have yet to appear on the blog.

It Cosmetics: This is an amazing Kabuki brush with a longer handle. I've found that the handle makes it quite a bit easier to hold while I brush on and buff my powder. The brush is a bit fuller than my other kabuki brushes as well. I can't find the brush on their main site, but it appears to come with their powder when purchased from QVC. The powder is great, but the brush is worth that price alone!

RAWcolor: The All-Over Eye Shadow brush is just that, the perfect brush to use over your entire lid. I've found myself using it as my first step over and over... The brush is $20, but I picked it as part of my BeautyFix box. I also have a concealer brush and the Maximum Coverage Foundation Brush from RAWcolor. They've stood up to tons of abuse over the last few years, they're definitely worth the price!

ELF: Surprisingly enough, the brush I'm reaching for after my RAWcolor brush, is this little $1 brush from ELF. It is perfect to add a little shading to the outer corner of my eye and the crease. For $1. Seriously go buy a bunch.

KIM: This company recently made its debut in the US. They sent me 3 brushes to try out about that time, though I fully admit that my favorite is the foundation brush. The brush is a little bigger than my other foundation brushes. It is wider, the bristles are a bit longer and overall the brush is a tad thicker. I didn't think that this would make a difference, but it does! When I blend with this brush the end result is more natural than my other brushes.

  1. I really want to love ELF brushes, but what prevents from doing so is that despite how awesome they are, they always come loose. Every single one I have with the exception of the contour brush is held together by duct tape.

  2. Really? That's not good! I've been using this one for about 6 or 7 months without any issues.

  3. I really need a kabuki like that. I have zero control with the smaller handle, I end up flailing around like an idiot splashing powder all over my clothes.

  4. Always on the hunt for good brushes. It's been hit or miss with me re ELF brushes. I got one a few months ago that smelled horrible even after washing, but then one of theirs for $3 was fine.

Have you ever tried the brushes from Cat Cosmetics? Awesome brushes.
