L'Oreal Paris Infallible & The Love of Lipstick

L’Oréal Paris recently conducted a survey of nearly 2,300 men and women about lipstick, and I thought the results were very interesting!

75% of women believe that lipstick improves their confidence
90% of women said that she’s not wearing that sultry-hue for you—it’s for herself! (This is sooo me, by the way. I wear all makeup for me, not for anyone around me.)
60% of men believe that smeared makeup on their face is a telltale sign of a steamy make-out session
30% of men would rather wear lipstick for a day than gain 30lbs

In celebration of lipstick, there's a great promotion going on over on the L'Oreal Facebook page. Over a 30 day period, you can "like" a new Le Rouge Lipstick diary entry from an A-list L’Oréal Paris spokespeople like Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes and Kerry Washington to name a few. You'll find out which of the 30 shades they’d choose to flirt, seduce or impress…

You'll be entered to win daily prizes including tubes of Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick and can enter the Live La Vie En Rouge in NYC sweepstakes for the chance to win a grand prize trip for two to New York City.

"I wear all makeup for me, not for anyone around me."

This is a lie.

Mmm... actually it isn't a lie. I think this might be a transition that most women make around age 30 or so. I suddenly realized that no one around me gave a crap if I had on lipstick or blush. I went out a few times without any makeup at all (something that happens a lot more now that I'm a new mom) and I found that I am treated just the same at the grocery store. NO ONE around you cares if you have on makeup. Not a single person. I wear it because I like the way I feel more confident and like myself when I wear it. I wear it because I enjoy it. But, for some random person in the elevator at work or the produce section? Not so much.

Truly, I think this is an age thing.

I love comments! Please ask away, provide info on how you liked something, etc. Note that spam, comments with random links (which I count as spam), anything not in english (again, spam) and comments that are completely unrelated to anything will all be deleted.
