Formal Looks: Tina Fey's Golden Globes 2011 Updo, hair style, how-to
Tina Fey's updo at the Golden Globes was just amazing. Amazing. It's absolutely perfect for any number of formal occasions, I can see this at Prom, a Holiday party or on a bride!

The style was created by Richard Marin from Remington.

1.) Apply a texturizer or curl enhancing mousse to wet hair and blow dry using the diffuser attachment to create frizz-free curls and waves (Try the Remington T-Studio Pearl Ceramic Dryer with exclusive pearl technology for extra shine!)
2.) Use a small barrel iron - Marin recommends the Remington Style ¾ inch curling iron - to curl random sections of hair
3.) Shake hair several times (do NOT brush!) and mist hairspray throughout
4.) Pull hair into a loose low ponytail and twist into a loose bun at the neckline. Secure with bobby pins, spritz shine spray and you’re ready for your close-up!

Pureology also sent out an email with information on how to achieve great formal hair styles, and Tina Fey was mentioned as an example of their Curly Updo. I thought some extra info on how to get this hair style would be helpful.

Pureology PureArtist April Webster gave these directions using ColourStylist Products:
1.) Prepare the hair by spritzing 8 pumps of FortifyingHeatSpray on damp hair then apply a quarter sized amount of NourishingNectar blended with one pump of AntiSplitBlowDry to entire head of hair.
2.) Blow-dry hair with a small round brush. When dry, set hair using a 1/2" curling iron. Use single prong clips to hold curls in place as they cool.
3.) Finger-rake curls to loosen and allow hair to flow in its own natural pattern. Secure perimeter with closed bobby pins to give shorter hair the look of an "up" style.
4.) Finish by smoothing hair into place with CuticlePolisher and misting with StrengtheningControl zero-dulling hairspray.
