Clarins Spring 2011: Neo PastelsMonday, January 17, 2011
As the Spring 2011 collections roll out (and truthfully, I'm likely behind on quite a few of them already, despite the fact that it is still mid-January!), I'll be sharing the ones I like the most with you. This year, even more than ever before, I'm drawn to collections that are pretty for pretty's sake, not trendy, not based on the runways, and won't make you cringe in a few years when you look at photos.
Today I'm sharing Clarins Spring 2011 collection, based on watercolors. Yes. The idea is that the colors of the collection can create a pretty wash or a bright punch of color if you want it to.
Read on to see items from the collection.
Neo Pastels Eye Colour & Liner Palette (Click to enlarge)
With 6 eye shadows and a black liner, this palette contains everything you need for almost any eye look! The shadows are subtle when used dry, but more pigmented if used wet. I love the look of the browns and peaches in this palette in particular, they seem to be calling out to me.

These new blushes are actually becoming part of the permanent collection, which is great, because just look at how pretty it is. There are 6 color options. The main color is a matte while some of the smaller colors offer just enough shimmer to make your complexion glow.
Rouge Hydra Nude Smoothing Cream Lipstick (Click to enlarge)
This lipstick is actually different than many as it is quite a bit more hydrating. I have it in a red and have found it to be well pigmented, easy to apply and fairly long lasting. It comes in 4 shades, though the pastel rose (shown here) is my favorite.
