Finally! Crisp air, changing leaves and Big 10 Football, it is most definitely fall around my house. Every year I give into the urge to envelope myself in big cozy sweaters, darken up my nail and lip colors (I have an amazing red gloss to share tomorrow that works for everyone, I promise). Part of this yearly fall transformation is transitioning my fragrance into warmer scents, especially with amber or bergamot base notes.
This new fragrance from Paco Rabanne is pretty much my perfect fall fragrance. I've heard all sorts of descriptions of this fragrance (from woody floral to raspberry overload) and I'm not sure that any of them are truly accurate.
Top Notes: Bitter orange, raspberry
Middle Notes: Neroli, Orange flower, Arabian Jasmine, Gardenia
Base Notes: Honey, Patchouli, Amber
The fragrance definitely starts out a bit fruity and a tad bitter, I think that this has more to do with the Neroli and Bitter Orange notes than anything. There may be a bit of the raspberry in the initial dry down, but for some reason this did not occur consistently with me. Some days I can detect a hint of raspberry, some days it is definitely not there. After the dry down (about 45 minutes) the fragrance becomes a little more floral with the Gardenia coming out a bit more and mixing with a backdrop of Amber and Honey. The Amber and Honey do seem to be more predominate (Don't worry about that patchouli note, it doesn't seem to really play into things too much, I know a lot of people avoid it as a base note.), making this a warm but at the same time sweet fragrance.
Overall Lady Million is definitely sophisticated and warm. I thought it was also subtle enough to work for day time, and it does seem to stand out from my other warm, fall like scents since the fruit notes make it a bit sweeter and less in your face "AMBER". Definitely check this one out if you need a new fall scent!
