My New Undereye Secret: Origins GinZing Eye Cream

Origins GinZing Undereye circle cream review
I have a little bit of an undereye circle problem. They aren't dark really, but they're there and noticeable to the point that I do get asked if I'm tired or feeling ok. Until recently my only secret for hiding them was a highly pigmented concealer. (You'd be surprised how hard it is to find a good one, my favorite right now is the MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer, which works great when used over a moisturizer. Tarte's The Eraser is another great one.)

But, I've now added a second product to help with those undereye circles, and I had to share it with everyone!

This new eye cream from Origins promises to help depuff, brighten and overall help improve your undereye area. The formula has a few extracts (such as Ginseng and Magnolia Extract) which I'm honestly not sure what they really do to your skin. However, the caffeine that is in this cream I definitely know, and in fact I look for in a day eye cream. The caffeine is a mild diuretic and will help to depuff the very outer layer of the skin, helping to tighten and help with the appearance of undereye bags. The cream also has "natural optic brighteners" to help brighten the area.

The cream is a light pink/skin tone color, and it reminds me of under-concealer primers like Light Bisque Undereye Corrector from Bobbi Brown. However, as far as I can tell this is not actually coverage of the undereye area, rather it is just the color of the brightners/light reflectors. It is a light eye cream and applies like pretty much any other eye cream, absorbing into the skin completely within a few minutes. I can't tell that it is on once I've let it sink in. However, there is a big difference once my concealer is on as well. I tried using the cream on one side only for a few days, and I thought that the side with the cream was noticeably smoother, less puffy and brighter than the other side.

  1. Thanks for this review, I too have dark circles under my eys, they sound a bit worse than yours and the doctor says they are linked to allergies so I dont know if I will ever be able to get rid of them! I will def be trying this cream now, anything that makes them a little less visible is something I need!

  5. Have you ever tried Dior's Hydrating Concealer by any chance? It is simply amazing for hiding dark circles and it doesn't make your undereye skin look dry. I set it with a light dusting of powder and it stays put. I've been using it for years and I've never been tempted to switch to another product. A tube of it lasts forever! I feel like it is a bit of an undiscovered gem.
