Facial Cleansing Wipes: Which Brand Did I find Backstage at Fashion Week?Friday, September 11, 2009
For the last few days I've been in New York (my first visit!) for a beauty blogging conference. Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2010 started yesterday, and I was lucky enough to tag along to a show with my friend Michelle from All Lacquered Up to Julie Haus's show. We went to meet Deborah Lippman (amazing! Love her!), but since we were backstage already we snuck around to check out the other beauty products.
The overall look for the show was done by Stila (more details in a day or two), and in classic Stila fashion had fantastic, amazing glowing skin. How the models managed to maintain this when they are running ragged from show to show and have so much stuff thrown at them is really beyond me.
Well, it turns out that this show had skin care provided by Arcona, a high end spa brand. I've heard of this brand here and there, they're mostly known for their product Magic White Ice, which is what provides most of the glow.
What I was more interested in however were the cleansing pads I spotted. Models were running in from other shows with very little time for hair, makeup and nails. We were in a basement with no running water. Somehow their faces were suddenly perfectly clean. The secret was Arcona's Raspberry Clarifying Pads.
These pads are the size of a Stridex pad. They are someone similar in texture as well, they're made of cotton and have a woven feeling to them. They're infused with ingredients like a lactic acid and white tea extract. The products are meant to be a "3 in 1" with cleansing, toning and moisturizing properties. And they were really removing everything on the model's faces.
The Arcona people gave me a box to take home, and I couldn't wait to bust in to it last night! I used two pads on my face. The first swipes took all of my foundation, concealer and eye shadow off quickly and easily. I had been told that the wipes would remove even waterproof mascara (which I wasn't wearing), and while it took another wipe to take off my mascara it did come off completely. Afterwards my skin felt some and definitely clean. If you're looking for facial cleansing wipes and want to pamper yourself, these are a great option.
Though not formulated for anti-aging (technically, they're "clarifying" and help to clear clogged pores), this product does have ingredients that fit that description.
