New Releases I Can't Wait to Try Out: Chanel Spring and Bobbi Brown Brights

I know, I know. We're all still digging out from our new Holiday items. I haven't even tried out anything from my YSL Holiday Set, which my mother-in-law had hunted down for me.

But, I have to admit that I'm really looking forward to checking out these new releases. What do you think? Have you tried them yet?

Bobbi Brown Brights Eye Palette
Bobbi is the queen of neutral, which I love. I have a more natural look (even if I use 4 eye shadows to get there). I will on occasion experiment, but bright eye shadows are not really in my day to day routine. If anyone can create bright colors that will work for girls like me, it's Bobbi!

This palette is based on her "fun" colors which she uses for fashion shows, shoots, etc. There are 35 soft matte shades, and I have a feeling that incorporating one or two into an otherwise neutral look will work even for me!

I'm not usually a Chanel girl. Sure, I covet their eye shadow palettes and Glossimers. I have some of their nail polishes (the colors are amazing). But I am honestly usually looking at other lines, and the Chanel price tag is still a bit out of reach for me. I think this Spring Collection is going to be my first real adventure into Chanel. But, I don't think I'll be able to resist this new collection!

The eye quad really looks right up my alley, the Glossimers in Wild Rose and Beige Guitare will both work for me, and especially that nail polish in Vendetta..... wow!

Chanel Satin Lip Cream
This Chanel lip palette has 5 different shades, comes with a brush and looks amazing! Can you imagine pulling this compact out of your bag to touch up your lipstick?

Both Bobbi Brown Brights and Chanel Spring 2009 are available now on-line (links above) and in stores! I'm hoping to check them out on my next trip to the mall. What are you looking forward to trying out?

  1. Hi and Happy New Year! Just curious, do you ever respond to comments? :)

  2. LOL!
I do, I do. If you look back you'll see that I do.

Here's the thing, I'm a pretty busy person. My schedule does change a lot, but I frequently work totally crazy hours. I auto-publish a lot of posts ahead of time (when I'm on top of it, I don't have anything done ahead of time right now), so I might ignore the site for days at a time. So, I tend to ignore the comments too, forgetting to hit the publish button... Then when I go back and publish, I can NEVER remember which posts the comments I wanted to respond to were, or when, etc. So, my lack of responding is largely because I'm lazy with the site and completely can't remember where the comments are.

There are some comments that I'll never respond to, and they very rarely make it through my screening process. I get about 5 requests a day to link to other sites/blogs through the comments (if you want a link and can't take the time to look at the 5 places I have my e-mail address on here then I'm not gonna link to you), a lot of ads for other sites/stores and people attacking others on my site.

I get a LOT of e-mails from readers and I respond to all of them, so if anyone ever has a question or anything definitely write me an e-mail! I have my spiffy new e-mail icon above, it takes you to my contact info.

  3. Christine - you've always responded to any comments I've left, and the two quick e-mail questions I've sent you have been replied to in record time! I appreciate that! :)

I have the Bobbi Brown brights palette in my hands - it just arrived the other day. I have to admit though, that I'm more like you, a neutral girl. I'm not quite sure where to start with the palette - but I'm thinking it will be great fun, especially for weekends. I'm thinking I will use some of them for liners, with a neutral eye? Brights are so new to me! :)

As for the Chanel eye quad for spring, I don't dare go to their website, or I know it will end up in my cart!

    Happy New Year!

  4. I already picked up the Channel quad and am in love with it! It's making up for the fact I missed the Dior Iridescent leather palette (I think it was part of their fall collection). I love the darker plummy brown color.

  5. After seeing the actual size of the Bobbi Brown palette, I'm skipping it. The Coastal Scents palettes have similar sized pans (a bit smaller than a dime) and come with 88 colors for less than $25. They're really pigmented and I love them. I like Bobbi well enough but this one isn't worth it to me.

  6. I am also not quite sure about the brights palette. I never know what to do with blues as eye make-up. I am hoping to get myself a copy of Bobbi Brown's makeup manual (book) and in there is a section on using colour. That might get me to splash out on the Brights palette :-)

I love comments! Please ask away, provide info on how you liked something, etc. Note that spam, comments with random links (which I count as spam), anything not in english (again, spam) and comments that are completely unrelated to anything will all be deleted.
