My Passion Fruit: Ferragamo Incanto CharmsSunday, December 14, 2008
Now that I have the site changes (somewhat) out of my system, we need to continue with the Sniffer!
Lately I seem to be craving fruity top notes in all of my fragrances. But, I've mostly been trying out berry notes. I wanted to try something different, so I did some investigation and discovered that there are fragrances with Passion Fruit notes! I don't like to eat Passion Fruit, but I love to smell it.
I hunted around for passion fruit notes, and was lured in by the bottle of Incanto Charms, a Ferragamo scent which some sources claimed was a limited edition and hard to get. I found it on Sephora.com (and truly, how hard can something be to get if you can buy it there?), but I thought $59 for a 1.7 ounce bottle of something I had never tried was a bit much. So, my bottle came from Perfume Center, who sent it super fast and sells the same bottle for half the price.
In the bottle there is a definitely fruity, slightly spicy scent. It's very difficult to pick out any notes other than a definite sharpness of apple (which isn't listed in the official notes). Once on, the scent doesn't change much at all. The Honeysuckle comes out a bit, adding some more floral to the fruity-spice-apple mix. I was sadly never able to pick out much of the Passion Fruit note.
Top Notes: Passion Fruit, Honeysuckle
Middle Notes: Jasmine Petals, Ottoman Rose,
Base Notes: Musk and Amyris Wood
I think this is a scent that you need to be in the right mood to enjoy. I love it when I'm already feeling cheerful and I'm doing something fun. It's definitely light, doesn't overwhelm you and is a very playful scent. It lasts all day, which I loved!
