Hana Mini Ceramic Flat Iron: Is a Travel Iron Worthwhile?Friday, December 12, 2008
I've been doing a lot of traveling lately, which you may have noticed. And, I have a few more trips (and a cross country move) planned for the next six months. So, I'm all about finding small items to travel with, minimizing my chances of paying overage fees on my checked bags. Since my Hana 1" Flat Iron was traveling everywhere with me (I couldn't be parted from it), it seemed logical to find a new, smaller, ceramic flat iron travel companion.
So, I started by looking at mini flat irons, but I pretty much immediately went for another Hana Iron. I picked this one because: 1) It's Pink and 2) It's a rounded 5/8" iron, which makes it a great versatile iron for travel.
The iron is pretty cool. The plates actually extend out of the base (they're shown retracted here), and lock into place. This makes the iron 8" for use. There's a simple on/off switch, and the heat is fixed at 410. This means that while you shouldn't use this iron all the time (too much heat equals damaged hair), it's definitely a good temp for pretty much anyone to use while on a trip. The cord swivels around giving you more freedom to move around than most travel items. Best of all that silver case has built-in heat mat so you won't burn the hotel counter.
It went with me to Miami last week and you can be sure this iron will be going on the rest of my trips! I'm now on the look-out for more travel companions. Let me know if you find a great blow dryer!
