Tarte's Lash Hugger: A Great Reason To Run To Sephora

Tarte, Lash Hugger, Mascara, ReviewIn the past year or so many companies have made an effort to release more eco-friendly
beauty products. While some products are pretty easy to make more "green" such as lotion and shampoo, there are a few products that are incredibly difficult to do so. Probably the most difficult is mascara. Why? Mascara has a lot to do. It has to lengthen, volumize, stay put despite rubbing, tearing or even water exposure. You can imagine that it would be hard to just stick some bamboo in mascara and call it environmentally friendly.

So, the fact that Tarte managed to make an actual eco-friendly mascara is pretty amazing. The mascara contains "skinvigorating™ ingredients" such as water, olive esters, rice bran wax, carnauba wax, and mineral pigments. Plus it's paraben-, phthalate-, sulfate-, mineral oil-, propylene glycol-, fragrance-, and synthetic dye-free.

Despite working so hard to make an earth friendly mascara, you would never know it from using the mascara. Why is that? Because it's simply a great mascara, you really can't tell that it is formulated differently from other products on the market.

This mascara is easy to apply and easy to remove. It is not at all clumpy, doesn't stick together and creates nice volume and length. It definitely helps hold curl in my lashes as well. As you can see from the image above while there was a bit of loss in curl by the end of a long day, they were still long and lush without smudges or flaking!

So if you're looking for a "natural" and eco-friendly mascara this is the right choice for you. You won't even know the difference!

I have to say, I'm a total mascara snob, so I'm intrigued to hear that Lash Hugger worked so well! Great post.
