A New Fall Fragrance: Calvin's Secret ObsessionMonday, September 08, 2008
In the late 1980s and early 1990s many of the top selling fragrances were from Calvin Klein. I can't tell you how many of my friends and family members wore classic fragrances like Obsession and Eternity. When CK One was released pretty much my entire class wore it, this was the "must have" fragrance to pull out of your gym bag in junior high. Honestly, none of the other Calvin Klein fragrances have really struck me as scents I'd want to wear. Until now.
A reworking of the classic Obsession, this version strikes me as a bit more sultry. The combination of notes creates a warm and mysterious fragrance. The list of notes is a great combination of fruits like Plum and Mace, a the floral notes are particularly subtle with the Jasmine and Tuberose taking a back seat to other notes. Most prominent on me are the Amber and Sandalwood but with the other notes the balance doesn't allow them to become overwhelming.
Top Notes: Exotic Plum, Mace, Rose de Damas
Middle Notes: Egyptian Jasmine, French Orange Flower, Tuberose
Bottom Notes: Cashmere Wood, Burnt Amber, Australian Sandalwood
I think that this newest Calvin fragrance is due to become one of the "new classics". It will be out on September 15th (you can see the billboard going up in Times Square above), you'll want to try it out soon!
