MAC Plum du Bois: Pretty, but Pale Gals Proceed with Caution!

As much as I love MAC's latest fall offering, Cult of Cherry, I have to offer my experience with the blush, Plum du Bois.

Check out this shade, it is an amazing deep berry/pink color, it has a hint of a bronze/coppery shimmer. It cries out for a tweed skirt and dark hose to go with it. It wants to be your cheek color as you crunch around in fall leaves. It wants to be part of your fall wardrobe. It's beautiful.

But, you need a light hand to go with it if you're a pale gal like me, and it's better pared with less intense eyes/lips. This is a cheek color that wants to be the center of attention, and having it compete with others will just backfire.

With my large #116 brush I can get just the perfect amount onto the apples of my cheeks. Even I (N3!) don't look like Bozo when I apply it correctly. But, just use a light hand and some balance with this one!

  1. Hey Christine! Just wanted to let you know that I nominated your blog. See my blog for the details!

  2. I love this shade. Plums and damson is what I always used on my eyes but now happy using browns

  3. I think with any blush - if you are heavy handed, it won't work!
