Hair Inspiration from NY Fashion Week: The Gen Art ShowThursday, September 18, 2008
On September 4th Gen Art sponsored the Fresh Faces Fashion Show, and the looks on the runway were just beautiful! The models were actually pretty with fresh faces and pretty hair that will be a great inspiration for me this fall! (click the picture above to enlarge)
FHI Heat and Ecru New York were responsible for the hair, they were kind enough to share the details!
The key to these looks is that the hair is both simple and classic but took into account each model's own hair texture.
For fine/straight hair, a curling iron was used to wrap section of hair around the barrel. This started at the back of the head and then went to the crown, creating flowing spiral curls. A strong center part made the look a bit softer and more bohemian. Models with already textured (aka- not straight) hair had their hair straightened using the FHI Heat Platform SE styling iron to smooth hair with Ecru Silk Texturizing Balm.
The bun was a simple, elegant look that only took a few minutes to create. Hair was pulled back into a ponytail and then wrapped around to create a bun with messy, loose strands. The buns were wound fairly tightly, pinned mid to low on the back of the head and without a part creating a more unstructured look.
