MAC Pro Longwear: The Lustre Twins!Thursday, August 28, 2008
I love a lippie that lasts for hours. Having bare lips tends to make me somehow even more pale than usual, so I like to at least have some shimmer or a bit of tint on my lips. Actual color that lasts for hours is even better!
The MAC Pro Longwear lippies are pretty similar to the long wearing lippies from Cover Girl, Revlon and Max Factor. Apply the liquid color coat like a gloss, let dry. Apply the gloss as often as you want all day! As with the other brands, I don't recommend reapplying the color coat without really scrubbing your lips first or using other glosses. If I grabbed the wrong gloss or reapplied my color the color coat would pill up and basically rub off of my lips.
I do think that this collection of colors is different than the Pro Longwear colors that I've tried in the past, simply because they are more translucent. While they last all day (from 7:30 to 5:30 without a problem), I love that the Pink Air color has a light gloss-like look that lasts for so long!
The pink is very flattering for my pale, cool toned skin. It is just a bit darker than my lips, and especially when combined with the White Top gloss there is a subtle but very pretty irridescent sheen on my lips.
Coco Lust definitely comes across as a brown, reminding me of expresso beans. There is a tad bit of red in the color (which I think makes it more wearable). I love the gold shimmer in the Sexy Sweet gloss. While it doesn't work for me, this would be a great fall lip for anyone with a warmer tone.
