Product I'm Loving: Cutler Fly-Away Control Stick

cutler hair stick, anti-flyaway, hair stick, hair wax, control stickI mentioned this in passing a few months ago, but in February I got the flu and subsequently had quite a bit of thinning of my hair. What this really meant in the long term was that the next time I got a hair cut Shannon (my beloved colorist/stylist) didn't have to thin my hair like she usually does. (That's right people, I have so much hair that I have it thinned every 6-8 weeks. Thanks Mom!)

So, while the thinning simply made my hair not quite so thick for a few months, it has resulted in some problems lately. Why? Because my hair is now growing back! For the last 2 months or so I have been plagued by an abnormally high number of "fly-aways" and little hairs sticking up all over my head. They'll eventually weigh themselves down and all will be fine, but in the meantime if I stand under a light I look like I'm wearing a halo. Or like you should throw me in to a dryer with a few extra dryer sheets because I'm so full of static.

That's when this Cutler Fly-Away Control Stick came into my life! It arrived via the Total Beauty Blogger Summit. There it was in my swag bag, ready to be tested. I wasn't really sure what it was exactly, I think it was either Daneen or Amber who had to explain what it was to me.

Basically, this is a stick of wax. It's not little either, it's actually a lot more product than most deodorants. I swipe it over the area that needs control, then style (aka- push the little suckers down) with my hands. That's it! They stay down all day and my hair suddenly looks perfect! Best of all, I think this one stick is likely a lifetime supply. I've used it every day for almost 2 months and it still looks brand new!

  1. haha. i totally know what your talking about . When i have flyaways i wet my brush an then brush my hair it seems to work for awhile

  2. I have the same problem that you do, but somehow my hair never grows long enough to flatten itself out. It's frustrating, but it may have been because I haven't had hair longer than just below my shoulders for almost 5-6 years.

This product sounds great! Thanks for the advice.

  3. These sticks are becoming quite the trend! I'm reviewing one myself right now..

  4. I haven't actually opened this tube yet but after reading your review I want to give it a shot!
