Philosophy's New Amazing Grace Products

philosophy amazing grace, philosophy skin care, philosophy bath products
While I've always loved philosophy and their products, for some reason I've never tried out Amazing Grace, their best-selling scent. Why? I'm not sure, because I've honestly never even smelled it before, so it isn't like I didn't like the scent. I've just been so drawn to all of their other yummy scents (seriously, where else can you find body washes that smell like Gingerbread or Apple Pie?) that I've never bothered with Amazing Grace or any of their other more traditional scents. Wow, I was missing out!

The Amazing Grace scent is very light floral fragrance with a hint of vanilla. It's very soft, and I really feel like it isn't a fragrance that gets noticed. What I mean is that it's a scent that people comment on by saying "you smell nice" rather than "I like your perfume." Philosophy even comments that this is a great scent for layering, which I definitely agree with. I've never used the regular perfume of this scent (though I've heard varying comments about it's lasting power), but I do think that the Body Spritz I've used here (review below) lasts most of the day.

Perfumed Buffing Wash
The buffing wash is a product I loved from the first time I used it! The wash has very small buffing grains in the wash that I loved the feel of with my bath sponge (though I'm not sure that there are enough of them to really exfoliate your body very thoroughly). The body wash has a nice lather and rinses off easily. It's not as hydrating as my usual Dove, but it is definitely not as drying as soap or some other body washes that I've used. Overall, this is a body wash that I've really enjoyed using!

water (aqua), sodium laureth sulfate, polyethylene, cocamide mea, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerin, fragrance (parfum), polysorbate 20, magnesium aluminum silicate, glycol distearate, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, linoleamidopropyl pg-dimonium chloride phosphate, sodium borageamidopropyl pg-dimonium chloride phosphate, allantoin, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, panthenol, phytosterols, tocopherol, tocotrienols, squalene, oryza (sativa) rice bran wax, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, tetrasodium edta, citric acid, sodium chloride, sodium benzotriazolyl butylphenol sulfonate, buteth-3, tributyl citrate, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, red 4 (ci 14700), red 33 (ci 17200).

Perfumed Body Spritz
The Body Spritz really is perfect for summer! It has the light scent of the Amazing Grace scent, is very light but lasts for hours. It does have some moisturizing ingredients in it (such as glycerin), but I did find that I need another moisturizer since it wasn't quite hydrating enough. However I do think that this is a bonus, since it doesn't preclude you using the spritz for other things, like on your bed linens! (Yes, my pillow now smells like Amazing Grace, love it!)

sd alcohol 40b, water (aqua), fragrance (parfum), glycerin, panthenol, camellia sinensis leaf extract, chrysanthemum parthenium (feverfew) extract, tris (tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) citrate, sodium benzotriazolyl butylphenol sulfonate.

Shave Gel
This shave gel was totally different for me. I'm used to using Shave Gels that come in a can and create a large amount of foam. I have to admit that I've been feeling guilty about using that kind of product (ozone.... the chemicals in that sort of product.... not to mention what throwing that can away does....), so a change over to more of a lotion in a squeeze bottle was definitely called for.

Overall, I really like this shave gel. It is more of a lotion, it feels very silky and works great! It allows my razor to glide easily over my skin, rinses off easily and doesn't clog my razor. With this I still had silky smooth legs after shaving! I also love that it will be very easy to decant into a small bottle, which is much easier to travel with than a big bottle of shave gel!

water (aqua), cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, dioctyldodecyl fluoroheptyl citrate, behentrimonium chloride, hydrolyzed jojoba esters, fragrance (parfum), behentrimonium methosulfate, panthenol, allantoin, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, camellia sinensis leaf extract, amodimethicone, cetrimonium chloride, trideceth-12, isododecane, disodium edta, citric acid, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, red 4 (ci 14700), red 33 (ci 17200).

  1. Ooh, glad you love the scent too! And new products! *drools* Would love the body mist.

Amazing Grace has gone from being okay to a firm favourite of mine. It's just so feminite, fresh and comforting. Have you tried their shampoo & shower gel? I love how the scent lingers in your hair.
