Top 5 and Paris!!!

I got a great e-mail the other day from Erika over at Makeup Bag giving me great news! 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic has been included on Shop 5's top 5 Beauty Blog List! I'm in great company with my other friends Daneen from Spoiled Pretty, Makeup Bag, Amber from Beauty Blogging Junkie and even Kristin from Beauty Addict!

I'm incredibly honored to have made this list! It does seem to have rankings... which are submitted by users (nice!), so run over there and review or score 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic, I'd love to move up in the rankings!

Top 5 Beauty Blogs at Shop 5

I don't really travel that much, particularly outside of the US. My husband and I had big plans to travel to London and Paris for our honeymoon, but when the Iraq war started (and the French decided they hate Americans even more than usual) we changed our plans to go to Maui. We were so last minute we even had to eat the cost of our Chunnel tickets since the return date had passed! I still haven't used the passport I got for that trip!

So, remember that ad I had here for the Total Beauty contest where you could win a car? TB had a correlating contest for bloggers. They kept track of where clicks were coming from and based on increase in traffic, etc. they decided to bring 3 bloggers with them to Paris! I won! I have no idea how this happened. If I had really been wanting badly to win (or at least thought I had a chance of winning) I likely would have promoted the contest more, mentioned it in posts and such. But, I thought there was no chance of me winning. But I hoped that maybe one of my readers would win the hybrid car filled with organic products like Origins Organics! (Did you win??? Let me know!) So, up the image went and everyone clicked me into a trip to Paris! Thank you so much!

So, I will finally be able to use my passport! I'll be going to Paris for a few days in October (what does one wear in Paris in October? I'm thinking a Trench Coat will be a big must buy for me, otherwise I'm not sure)....

We'll be heading to Beyond Beauty Paris which looks like a huge beauty convention with the most amazing brands! I'll get a ton of great information and learn about new innovations!

The other bloggers coming with me include Tammy from A Mom in Red High Heels, which I'm particularly excited about, though she is very chic, so I'll need amazing clothes too... Nadine from Jolie Nadine will be there as well!

Stay tuned for more information about Paris and travel as I freak out even more about my 3 day trip!

  1. Hey Christine:

Congratulations! Paris is a fantastic place for your first passport trip! I was there with my husband early November last year and the weather was great. A sleek trench with a pretty scarf is the way to go. And, Parisians are WAY more dressy at baseline than Americans. I did not see a single pair of sweatpants in public. It was kind of nice, actually.

    Congrats again, kyl

  2. wow wow wow! what exciting news for you!!!

  3. Congrats Christine!!! A trenchcoat would be good for Paris. Also a pair of sturdy yet chic boots. The Parisians walk quite a bit. Have fun in Paris and do keep us updated

  4. Fantastic news!! I love your blog -keep up the good work

  5. Congrats on your fabulous win. From your informative posts, you deserve it.

  6. Thanks everyone! I'm incredibly excited! I really thought that I would not even have a chance of winning!

  7. Congrats! You will love Paris!!

  8. Congrats on the trip. That's soo exciting.

  9. Woo hoo! Congratulations! I can't wait to see what you bring back from your trip to Paris.

  10. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time here in Paris but please please please do not believe all what the media said about the French hating US citizens!!! Also, all of us are not dirty, socialists and eating bread all day long.. :-))))
I'm French-American and I think we have so much, Americans and French, in common :-) If you need any help with your upcoming trip I'll be glad to help you.
Paris is usually gorgeous in October, not too rainy and with a mild weather. A beautiful print dress with a trenchcoat and soe nice stilettos would perfectly fit the atmosphere. Please keep us posted on this!!! Cheers

  11. Very cool!! Very happy for you. Have never been to Paris, but a nicely tailored piece of trousers will get a lot of mileage in Europe.

    Good luck w/ the preps!

  12. Christine,
I think we'll need to go shopping together before the big trip! I definitely need a trench and boots for the trip, too! Can't wait!!
