A Great Eye Cream You Might Not Buy On Your Own: Avon's Ultimate Contouring Eye System

I'm finally kicking off my eye cream review series, hopefully I'll be posting at least one eye cream a week for quite a while!

I decided to start with one of my favorites that you might not decide to try out without hearing about it. Why not? Because it's from Avon. I know that a lot of us think of little old ladies selling Avon to supplement their income, but the company is truly not like that at all. I know quite a few people in their 20's and 30's that sell the line (especially after the launch of Mark), I have seen a few mall kiosk (and wish there were more), and you can even order products on-line now!

Truly, I love this Avon Eye System. Who can argue with getting not one but two different eye creams in one very reasonably priced package?

There truly are two different but related products within this package. The bottom cream is meant to be applied day and night, the top elixir (which I think is more like a balm) is applied over the cream at night. The cream is very silky and applies very well, it sinks in after a minute or so and is perfect for applying my concealer over! When the elixir is applied the area is much more greasy and takes about 10 minutes or so to sink in. But, you're going to bed so who cares?

I did definitely notice that the product resulted in plumping/firming of my undereye area. I have no wrinkles and only very mild discoloration (from blood vessels), so I can't comment on the effects on wrinkles and undereye circles. But, I could definitely see a difference between days I used the product and days that I forgot.

Mea Culpa: I have spent hours already going typing the ingredients out and looking them up, and I am quite frankly exhausted by it. I've identified many of them already in the cream portion, the elixir is very similar. Both contain a lot of botanical ingredients, anti-oxidants and peptides, making them great anti-aging preventative (rather than treatment) products. Both have a lot of moisturizing ingredients, which helps with plumping up the outer layers of the skin and producing immediate effects that you can see. As well, note that there are a few coffee derivatives- I think this is likely for the caffeine effects, which acts as a diuretic. Getting rid of excess fluid helps with any puffiness and helps to firm up the appearance of the skin (in a way that does not counteract the plumping from hydration, the two actions only help each other).

I have been curious about this product for quite some time! It definitely sounds like it could give my Kiehl's eye cream a run for its money.

I did buy this eyecream a few months back and it's not bad, I just can't seem to get in the habbit of putting eyecream on everynight.

Wonderful to see such a good review - i am a rep for avon (and i am certainly not an "old lady") I am in my 30's and rate avon products 100 % not because i sell the products but because i use them as well. The avon eye creams are notorious - if any product of avon is famous it is most definitly the eye creams. I can also rate the "clinical" eye-lift cream - it is a duo cream, which has a lovely thick cream for under eye area which helps with dark circles, crows feet, puffiness etc. and it has a glorious eye gel for the eye lids and brow bone area which tightens, refreshes and lifts the upper eye. It is one of the no. 1 selling eye creams of avon.

What a wonderful website. I happen to seek some information regarding Avon's "Ultimate Conturing Eye System". I thought it was just another gimmick supporting a cream on the bottom and elixir on the top. I consider myself and pride myself on my shopping skills; that's why I was looking into this Avon product. When I travel to Florida, I absolutely must stop and see "Bea/Tis and That" at the Daytona Flea Market. She is so knowledgeable and helpful in helping me find the perfect Avon product. (BTW, I love their ANEW cleanser in the tube)
I agree with you mentioning that Avon has somewhat of an old-lady reputation. Maybe they just need better marketing. "Ding-Dong, Avon calling!" Nope, that doesn't work for me either. Today's woman is better educated and working longer hours coming home to a family, her real job. Times have changed. If I hadn't stumbled into Bea at the Flea Mkt., I probably would not have bought Avon. I have to admit, it probably had been about 30 years since I purchased Avon. I am in my 50's and finally need to concentrate on me now.
Thanks, Christine, I will be checking your great networking website from time-to-time. Ladies, we are lucky that someone is unselfishly willing to share their secrets with us.
