Tarte's Ready, Set, Glow KitFriday, February 08, 2008
You know that I love a good cosmetic kit, especially when it introduces me to great new products! This kit from Tarte (exclusive to Sephora) is a great buy, and if you're heading to a tropical location any time soon, you will want to bring this with you! All of these products are perfect to compliment your tan.
Mini Cheek Stain in Tipsy (sheer shimmery peach)
This cheek stain works great in a hot location! I love that it is in stick form, and with just a few dots across your cheek (which blends very easily), you will have a pretty flush that works perfectly with any tan! It's an amazing light peach shade that really compliments my pale skin without any orange leanings (an issue with most peaches), with minimal shimmer. The staying power is amazing, it still looks fresh at the end of the day! One word of warning- if you apply this over any powder it will be much harder to blend into skin. You can use powder over it, but not under it for best results.
Full-size Double Ended Lipgloss in Elle & Emmett (sparkly pink and lilac)
I had heard rumors of these glosses being fantastic, and I'm happy to report that they are everything they were rumored to be and more! The Elle & Emmett colors are both very flattering. They have shimmer, are sheer but with enough pigment to be very pretty. They are hydrating and not at all sticky, my favorite combination! I've left mine as a double ended wand (I need a lot of lip gloss options at all times), but I have heard that you can pull these apart if you want to bring only one with you.
Full-Size Rest Assured Brightening Wand
This is the item in the kit that I feel I haven't really "gotten" yet. It's a lovely pink/nude shade with a bit of shimmer, and it is really the perfect shade for highlighting the inner corner of your eye. I love the liquid side of the wand for that- just one little dot, a pat with the tip of a finger, and it's done! As for the pencil side of the wand, this is the side I'm not sure about. Tarte mentions also using this side for the corner of the eye or for highlighting parts of your face. Personally, I just do better with the liquid end.
Mini Glistening Powder in Sugar Daddy (sparkly champagne)
This glistening powder is a light tan/champagne color with a very pretty light shimmer that is perfect for highlighting your tan without turning yourself into a 15 year old cheerleader with a glitter obsession. The light shimmer highlights and gleams without being obvious, it mostly just makes you glow!
Full-Size Powder Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess (light bronze)
This is just an amazing bronzer. Period. On my very light skin it has been very difficult to find a bronzer that does not look orange or just dirty. Until now I have only been able to use Dior's Bronzer, now I have a Tarte option as well! This bronzer has very faint shimmer, is well pigmented, and is very easy to use just a little or to build up the color. It looks natural and compliments many skin tones. This really should be a holy grail bronzer!
