Neutrogena Mineral Sheers, Nourishing Eye Duo and Healthy Skin Blends Blush

Neutrogena has long been one of my favorite brands for their skin care. For a few years now they have had a cosmetics line as well, which I believe doesn't get the full credit it deserves. Consistently the Neutrogena Cosmetics have been quality products that everyone should check out.

Nourishing Eye Duo

The new Nourishing Eye Duos have great combinations of a light and a dark shadow. Within the compact you get a large amount of each shadow, making these an especially good deal.

The shadows are very good. They are well pigmented and the colors are all very flattering. The shadows last about 12 hours with my UDPP underneath, not a crease in sight!

But, I do think that they are a bit too powdery. What do I mean? When I put my brush in the pan, a bit too much shadow comes up, and it kind of falls all over the place. I've taken to using different brushes with these shadows, making it a bit easier to target the shadow to where I want it to be. Because of the powder issue, I have to be a bit careful with blending because it can become a bit of a muddy mess. But, if you are careful these issues shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation

Until recently I was using MAC's Studio Fix Foundation, (which is currently on hold due to testing) it was my first powder foundation and I love it! So, you can imagine that I have high expectations for every powder foundation that comes after it.

This Neutrogena Foundation does not disappoint!

It is a powder, but has a slightly creamy feel to it. The compact has 2 compartments, keeping your sponge completely separate from the foundation. It applies pretty easily with the sponge, but is a medium to full coverage with the sponge. For a light to medium coverage, I recommend using a brush. The bigger the brush you use the lighter your coverage will be, easy as that!

The foundation is very easy to blend, and I didn't feel like I had a lot of "makeup" on, and it looks very natural. It stays on all day, but the only negative that I could see is that I had to test it on a day that I was staying home all day. Why? It's too dark for my skintone. Hear me Neutrogena? I had the lightest color, but please expand your color range beyond the eight shades currently available!

Healthy Skin Blends Blush

I also really love the Healthy Skin Blush, and now that I've had it for a while I can really see what all of the hype is about. The multiple colors included in the same pan make the blush not quite as "heavy," and the multiple colors really create a very pretty and natural flush on the cheeks. It can be layered for a more intense look, but I suggest just using a smaller brush if you want more color. The blush lasts pretty much all day!

I've also tried out the Healthy Volume Mascara, which will be included in an upcoming Mascara Week (it's true, I have once again collected too many mascaras to review, so they will all be included in an upcoming week). So, stay tuned!

  1. The Neutrogena foundation compact looks exactly like Maybelline Dream Mat powder.

  2. While I'm pretty happy with my Lancome powder foundation, I'm always up for testing drugstore brands to save myself some money here and there. The blush sounds like something I'd definitely want to test for sure!

    Thanks for the reviews! :)
