Magic Lash: It Really Is Magic!

Yesterday I promised a review of a product that gave me fantastic, amazing lashes! Surprisingly, this product isn't a mascara!

What is this stuff? You can see in the picture to the left above, this is basically a tube of little fibers. I know, these fibers are already built into mascaras (like Fiberwig). The problem with those mascaras is that the fibers all stick to the ends of your lashes. The result is super long lashes, but I end up really wanting more volume. I've tried combining Fiberwig with other mascaras (like Lash Blast), but still don't get the effect I want.

Well, this is where Magic Lash comes in! This tube of little fibers is meant to be used with any mascara. You apply a coat of mascara, and then the Magic Lash. I tried to get a picture of my lashes covered with this stuff, but it didn't really come out. You literally just have the fibers all over, and then another layer of mascara. You can apply to the entire lash for amazing volume, or the ends for added length. A light hand really is necessary, because if you use too much you really will look like Tammy Faye on a day that even she went crazy with a mascara wand. I strongly recommend reading the 3 page note that comes with this before you use it, it is full of helpful tips!

One of the most helpful hints is to use a separate tube of mascara for use with the Magic Lash. I strongly recommend that you use a mascara like Cover Girl's Lash Blast or Lash Exact. These mascaras have special brushes, rather than typical nylon bristles they are molded from rubber/plastic. I really think the use of the Lash Blast made using Magic Lash much easier for me. As well, I had my handy metal eyelash comb (read more about them here) which I used to comb out any clumps. With practice I had fewer and fewer clumps.

You can see in these images (click to enlarge) that my lashes went from fine with just Lash Blast (ok, more than fine, they were much longer and thicker than naked lashes), to crazy with the addition of the Magic Lash!

So, how is the wear? I look the exact same at the end of the day as I did when I first applied. Meaning, I have long, thick lashes that are curled, no flaking and no smudges. Best of all, this stuff did not bother my contacts! It is incredibly easy to remove with normal eye makeup remover, no special tricks are needed!

One tube of Magic Lash will last about 3-4 tubes of mascara, even longer if you don't use it every day. I have to warn you that this stuff is addictive, and you will find yourself wanting these lashes even for a simple trip to the grocery store!

I have the thinnest lashes ever. This looks like it might just be the ticket!

I love the photos you posted - you can really tell a difference!

I use Lancome's Cils Booster XL. It's essentially the same as what you've reviewed here - a tube full of fibers! I love the results I get from using it with my everyday L'Oreal Original Voluminous.

It appears the Magic Lash might be a touch less expensive so I'm going to put this on my "to try" list!

Thanks for the review!

hello! i know you said you tried to combine another mascara with fiberwig with not the effect you liked , but maybe try a different mascara like Diorshow. I haven't tried it, but there is a youtube video that shows a dual mascara use of fiberwig for lengething and diorshow for volume. please let me know how it works out if you try it :)

I didn't have a lot of luck using stuff I put on my eyelashes themselves. I love that you actually posted GOOD before and after photos here - gives us old gals hope!

I switched to using Jan Marini religiously, but last year when it got pulled from the market, I moved over to Massive Lash. It seemed to be less irritating and you just put it on like eyeliner. I'm pretty happy with it - you gals should check it out if you have thin lashes. Plus, the manufacturer promises a 100% one year money back guarantee, so I had no risk in buying it. It's a bit pricey, but lasts for months and I'm very happy with my results. I know now you can get it at Nordstroms stores in California, at www.bestlash.com, and at www.intuitbeauty.com. Be careful who you by from - I think only authorized resellers can give you the money back guarantee, though. Just my 2 cents...

p.s. my favorite mascara - good old (and inexpensive) Define-A-Lash!
