MAC's Matte collections caused a big stir amongst us beauty bloggers earlier this fall, and I decided to finally try out some of the eyeshadows. I have a lot of eyeshadow, and I have to admit that lately I have had a bit of glitter/shimmer overload. So, I needed to try out some "quieter" shadows to add to these shadows, I was hoping to create looks a bit more appropriate for work!
I tried out the Poison Pen (a slight muted purple) and Pen 'n Pink (a light bubble gum pink) colors. Both of these colors are fantastic! The colors really are matte, which means that on their own the look is a bit more subtle than I'm used to, and when combined with other shimmery eye shadows the look is more toned down. This is exactly what I needed! The colors are pigmented, but with one layer are fairly sheer. The shades are easily buildable, making Poison Pen a great addition to any smokey eye! I had no creasing and both shadows still look perfect at the end of the day!
Pick a few of these shadows up when you're at MAC checking out the new collections!
