While in Chicago last week, I found myself with a couple of hours to fill and no room in my suitcase for new clothes. What was a girl to do? Go shopping for cosmetics, of course!
My first stop was Sephora, every beauty addict's mecca!
I found the much talked-about Miss Davenporte Showstopper Palette there. This palette has 4 eyeshadows and a coordinating blush, and it comes in a very fancy box with a bag around the palette, and then the palette. It's all very sparkly, and I felt like the packaging probably was costing me at least as much as the eyeshadows. Oh, and the black sparkles won't stop coming off. Be careful, or you will end up like me with black glitter all over your forehead!
The colors in this palette work well together, but they are a bit frosty and are pretty shimmery. These aren't really a great look for everyday in a conservative environment, just because of the amount of shimmer. However, I have been combining this palette with some of the more muted tones from my Bobbi Brown Stonewashed Nudes Palette for everyday, and just from the Lorac palette for night. All of the shades in this palette work very well on me, despite my super cool, pale skin. I have a feeling that they would work great on my sister as well, who has very warm coloring.
The eyeshadows in this palette are:
Sand (pale beige)
Serenity (peach tan)
Luxe (golden brown)
Glamour (smoky black)
blush in Couture (golden pink rose)
Overall, this palette is a great buy, but hurry because it is limited-edition and only available at Sephora!
