2007 Emmy Awards

This year, Olay has teamed up with the 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards to be the "Official Skincare Partner," and they are also working with celebrity makeup artist Bruce Grayson, the Makeup Department Head for the 2007 Primetime Emmys.

Before the show even started, Bruce predicted that the Emmys would be more "real" this year, due in part to the "Reality Show" feel this year with the "In the Round" set and host Ryan Seacrest, but also due to the huge popularity of HDTV. With HDTV the makeup approach is very different, and due to that change, he predicted that we'd see a lot more fresh looks with emphasis on fresh skin, soft and beautiful eyes with a lot of falsies, and if lip color is worn he predicted plum, red and berry toned lipstick and lip glosses. Boy was he right!

These ladies really show what a great look the simple eye was at the Emmys! All three had simple eye looks with emphasis on the lashes, a very pretty look that is really easy to do on your own at home.

This look calls for a simple, light eyeshadow with the emphasis on the eyelashes. Smashbox Eyeshadow Trio in On Stage or Multi-Flash are both great choices. If you want to attempt the false eyelashes on your own, I recommend checking out Raquel's False Eyelash Tutorial, but I get near falsie results from my beloved L'Oreal Volume Shocking Mascara, which takes a bit to get used to, but in the end is definitely worth the effort!

Fresh faces were worn by pretty much all of the stars in attendance, but Hayden and Becki both really showed the look off best. I recommend using Benefit That Gal Primer and Some Kinda Gorgeous with a touch of powder in your t-zone. Bruce recommends using blotting papers frequently to keep down shine, and the use of a cream blush to keep the look glowy.

All of these ladies were showing off this fall's most popular lip, the lipstick! It's been years since we've really seen lipstick, but this fall the right colors are in shades of plum, red and berry. The formula can be either matte or glossy, it's really more the tonal family that's important this season. I personally really loved MAC's Lustre Lipstick in Fastlane, and I know I'll be wearing it a lot this season!

I also had to show this picture of Kate just for the great shot of her nails! I love the look of short nails this season with a deep berry, red or a jewel tone. Right now I have on my OPI La Boheme (discontinued, so if you see it, grab it!), but I also really love these OPI shades for a similar look: Kangarooby, Malaga Wine, Bogota Blackberry, Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ and NYPD Beet (another favorite discontinued color).
