For years we’ve all been gloss addicts, and I’m certainly guilty of this (hence, there are 2 upcoming gloss reviews). However, this fall seems to be all about lipstick (hence, another upcoming lipstick review as well). A great in-between lippie, for those of us that will have trouble with this transition, is L’Oreal’s Color Juice Stick.
The Color Juice Stick is a great compromise between a gloss and a lipstick. While formed like a lipstick, once on the lip this is a formula that feels and looks very much like a gloss.
The color I bought, Strawberry Fields, doesn’t seem to be anywhere on-line (the product doesn’t even seem to be on the L’Oreal website). The pics here are pretty representative of the color while still in the tube, and to the right this is a swatch of the color. You can see here that the color is pretty sheer, with extra coats it does get darker. There is enough color for it to show up on my lips as a very pretty pink with just a small touch of shimmer. Perhaps what is best about the color is that it is light enough that I can easily apply on the go, without worrying about having to look in a mirror.
Once applied, the color is shiny, feels hydrating and isn’t at all sticky. It stays put for several hours without needing reapplication, but it doesn’t last through eating or drinking.
While I chose a pretty pink color, this would be a great product to try this fall’s red lip with a more forgiving application.
You can find this at Target, CVS, Walgreens, or pretty much any place you can find L’Oreal.
